Queensland Raceway Happy Laps (v.9) 29-09-12 Breakfast
What happened to the APR Polo GTI? It was behind me on the opening lap and was about to overtake me on the back straight but I saw it slowed down quickly and looked like it restarted it's engine or something (the headlights flickered a bit for a second).
Part 1 of footage is uploading now along with pictures.

Had a good 15mins run before car died on me ... =="
Got it towed back home at the most stupid price ever!
Troubleshooting the problem thinking that coilpacks burnt out, kept trying little things here and there, check fuel pump, fuel lines, injectors, multimeter the whole car checked fuses and gave up after 2 hours and just went out to Riverfire to watch fireworks with girlfriend and friends.
Came back home trying all sorts of things, checking ECU datalogging and sensors and whatever I could do. And thought I just change a few fuses for ignition coils and fuel pump and volla, it started. After all that a fuse that wasnt blown was just screwed up and not enough amperage was getting to the coils. Sighs so bad, waste of money on tow truck.
Anyways cant wait till the next one, no issues and may have a new car
Another great day out. I had a blast. I can't remember the car, though must apologize as I passed down the back straight under brakes to miss my braking marker and ran wide, slowing him down in that corner. Sorry about that and thanks for giving sufficient room.
Some data from yesterday
Lap times
Max Speed 173.83
Lateral G's: 0.55 to -.52
Longitudinal G's: 0.39 to -.96
Last time out on the Clubman circuit with very cold temps. Max speed quite a bit higher down the back straight. I'd say that shows the difference in air temp between the 2 days. One being mid single digits, y'day being high 20's.
max speed: 178.27
Lateral G's: 0.57 to -.48
Longitudinal G's: 0.37 to -.93
Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII Daily: 2010 VW Jetta Highline Gone but not forgotten: 08 Polo GTI

It is always the simplest things ay - at least next time it happens you will know how to fix it. The top RACQ [the Ultimate] is $249 but worth it cause you get 100 or 200 km towing - I can't remember.

Thanks again Aaron, a really fun day out!
It was great to have a slightly more spaced out field than last time so there was definitely more room for fun
Everyone seemed to behave pretty well out there for most of it too!
Awesome fun today. Had to be one of the best happy laps sessions I've been to yet.
The number of cars were spot on, not too little to be boring and not too many to be annoying. Very much fun indeed. Everyone was well behaved and a big thankyou to the green-P plater in the blue BMW 328i for slowing down for me on the straight to let me past haha.
Footage should be up in sometime today and/or tomorrow from mum's photos and the onboard gopro.
Thank you again Aaron for organising such a fun event!
Rhys
Thanks Aaron and everyone for a great time ,
was nice to race with others who respect each other on the track.
Cant wait till i finish the new engine for the MK6 GTI and get a heap more power
out of this thing!!!
No worries folks - thanks for coming along and making a great day. The heat was a bit of an issue compared to the usual morning sessions - my brakes got that hot that the normally bright red paint on the front calipers is now charred dark maroon!

Sorry to hear of the problem - I couldn't stay, as had a family do to get to before 2pm, otherwise would have stayed on to help (& have the usual post laps chat!). On a brighter note, at least it turned out to be something that wasn't too expensive to fix.
Ok people, here are parts 2/3 and 3/3 of the onboard. I'll be uploading another video that was taken from the sideline of pit-lane of us going past soon as well.
To see DarkShines off-road expedition, it is at 10:30 in part 2. And again at 14:10. He was talking to me after about a third time he went off but I didn't capture it on film haha.
