Friday
Well I went to work and kept checking facebook and the forum for updates. In bed nice and early for tomorrows trip.
Saturday
Too much excitement and cant sleep, waking up in a warm sweet every 20mins buzzing on the thought of road tripping to Sydney. Baaaammmpppp Baaaammmpppp Baaaammmpppp 3:15am alarm is going bonkers, I cant stomach food at this hour (well that’s not true when out of the town 3am kebab’s or slurpee’s are my bestest friend) Rob picks me up at 3:30am. He is a little surprised at my luggage comprising of suitcase, food green bag, esky, my blow up doll Suzzie, monkey bike and other random items. I fall asleep somewhere here after meeting up with Todd in his skoda wagon. First stop is so Todd can eat and Rob need a ciggie, I should be in my nice warm bed.
Wake up in Albury to Rob yelling at some tradie half asleep trying to drive his ute into my door (pay attention cobra). Dean St is going off (Dean St is the main drag of Albury and most nights young blokes to Deany’s to impress the opposite sex with the chance of mating later that night). Its 8:30am now and breakfast does seem like a splendid idea, cup of tea is my drink of choice to accompany my big breaky.
I swap from the Golf R and co-pilot with Todd in the skoda, Todd has loaded his SD card with some good stand up comedians who like the odd racist joke or 7. Gundagai is our next stop for some premium sniff (BP 9, some tattoos and fine look at the cute blonde who smiles at you and your legs go jelly. Because Todd has to eat so much time has flown by and the Chris and Pete Davies have caught up in the VWCV convoy.
Good to see the NSW roads authority and doing a grand old job of wrecking the asphalt heading into Wakefield park. I like motorsport so stopping by to check out the Super Sprint is a must. (See super sprint thread for pics and my thoughts of the event). Goulburn to Sydney was a breeze with many laugh happening over the CB radio. But for bad words sake Rob’s GPS can go jump ****, it was about 3 intersections too slow. Arriving at the accommodation seeing so many dubs made me very happy and super excited catching up with the crew. Most of the boys were filling up with booze and ready to see Sydney. With the cars piled up, may I suggest 5 big blokes in smaller low poking VW’s is always fun. Remember kids were aren’t drunk just avoiding 10000million flaming pot holes.
Dinner was hoot, Bill and Toni’s was taken over my immature young males talking about fitting wheels that shouldn’t fit and how slow their mates Honda is…
And a certain black VR6 pulls a crowd:
All trips to Kings cross must include Ice cream (ohhhhh and strippers) finding cool Volov hub caps goes alrite too:
Well all I can say is Kinsg Cross WOW, there is the a lot of curves, females and other R-rated activities to blow any blokes, mind wallet and parts. And most impartnatly we cut some phat laps.
Sunday
Went to some show and had a hoot! Went to EST and got hated on by the cops!
Stand out cars:
- Ray’s A3
- Hectik maddddddddd spec bora
- Red Mk2 in the carpark
- White Type3
- Tranny raise on the raw beetle
- Rod Penrose’s new drag car
- The honest and well price swap meet stands
- The blue Vento
- How awesome all the Mexican crew taking out trophies for our hard work
I have to say thought im awfully disappointed in the turnout from the Sydney watercooled crew, its your local show, its all about particiapation, stop wignhing about shows and support ClubVW please, there was at least 7 ACT cars and 6 Victorian cars that made the trip up, we drove over 1600km’s for the weekend. Reece from Albury plus the Wagga boys: Zale, Sam and Simon all made the effort to come along to the show.
Monday
After a half decent sleep, Dylan snores a lot, and when ya whack him on the head he just gets louder, up and off to Loon’s. Late start is good because Sydney track can go eat sour lemons.
The trip home involved some fun tunes, many off topic conversations and out own mini-meet at Gundagai Dog on the Tucker Box.
Fuel economy runs and spinning koala’s got us home around 10:30pm it’s a long trip but well worth it for the friends and laughs had along the way.
Thanks:
Todd and Rob for the lift up, Jarred and Matt for organizing accommodation, all the Wagga and Canberra crew for partying, Rayray for the wheels, Sydney people for hanging out with us, Pizza Hut George St, Bill and Toni’s restaurant and all the Melbourne crew: Dyaln, Jarred, Chris, Pete, Fatmir and his cousin Nuredin, old boys Todd and Rob, Mitch who has attended his 3rd VW nationals and doesn’t even own a VW, Matt in the cabby, Ryan, Benny the druk Morgan, Stu and Hope and Reece from Albury. Well down crew we came home with Best Polo, Audi, Cabriolet, Sedan and Skoda.
BTW Joshy you missed out.Last edited by Water Boy; 31-05-2012, 09:20 PM.
