Clay, do they do these at QR too? QR whilst not as fun also has it's own nuances and is a higher average speed environment whilst still rewarding balance and good lines. Differences between slower and faster cars will be more pronouned at QR though also allows for greater committment in the corners due to plenty of run off (safer). Any chance of one or two of these on the annual calendar?

They do offer these at QR however I have normally gone with Lakeside as my preference because of the location (closer to a lot of people) and the fact it is more of a challenging course with the elevation changes and off camber corners etc.
It also means the smaller output cars can do pretty well.
I believe Redline3345 was looking into organising a few out at QR as the reserve list fills up pretty quickly here so we could probably get the numbers to do a run at QR too.
My main problem would be that I wasn't willing to organise these too frequently otherwise people will get bored of it (if it hapens every second week etc) and that if you do these frequently hte wear and tear on the cars becomes an issue.
Might be best to shoot Redline3345 (Octavia owner) a pm and see what the go is.
thanks clay, all valid points too mate. QR is probably harder on the car than lakeside (until you hit the grass, lol), braking points are from higher speeds and the higher speed corners (turns 1 and 2) more aggressive on the tyres and chassis.

maybe we can run at LS twice then QR then back to LS twice etc.
just for a change.
Something like this is what I had in mind. Quite different circuits to satisfy the different itches (haha, bad analogy). And once every 4-8weeks is awesome IMO.
I'd also likely be able to organise a morning or afternoon at Morgan Park Raceway, Warwick, with Safe Driver Training (SDT) along with advanced driver tuition. It's expensive, bank on $300 depending on numbers. I may be able to get a variance of their advanced day depending on interest levels.
Or - look here. Timely email from Queensland Raceway.

I love Lakeside, but i'm all for spreading it around. Sounds like a good idea.
Regarding this upcoming Lakeside happy laps, i'm probably going to come out but most likely just to spectate. I am willing to videotape around a few sections of the track if somebody has a decent video camera I can use.
Awwww maaaannn. Now i have to learn a new circuit again haha should be fun though Looking forward to hearing what my car sounds like without a resonator on the track hehe. So I'm still correct in saying that the v.4 happy laps is still at Lakeside ?

I'll add you to the spectator list, you could always try and jag a spot as a passenger with someone.

Redline3345 will be organsing the V5 laps out at QR
At least this way if people prefer lakeside they can do that one and leave the QR one to others etc.
Can't believe the VW club's haven't got onto this earlier.
I will put up the V5 invite on the Monday night after the V4 weekend so that everyone has a chance to get on it.
