I should be sweet to come around and have a peek. I won't be running on the dyno though because there's no point in running the 2 Litre haha.

hope your all having fun and looking forward to some unmolested results.
i would have been there but no fuel pump and with only APR stage 1 ( i think) tune would have been useless.
APR had no fuel pumps so got a hold over with the discount in place till new batch of pumps come it?????????????
don't forget to idle down your cars after the run ok
looking forward to your results

I did a baseline run today on the 118TSI which returned 96.1kW at the wheels. Will be interesting to see what it returns later...

A stock GTD pushed 99.6kW, a stock GTI returned ~140kW and I think a stock R was ~180kW. Most tunes seemed to be about +20kW or so for a stage 1 + some minor mods then incrementally better depending on what else was done.
For me it was great to meet some more people and see some cars, it's also going to be great to have a baseline to compare to later.

I do wonder what my VR6 was making with it's few little intake/exhaust mods. The Cabriolet is bigger and heavier as well has having half the displacement (and two cylinders less!) and definitely doesn't feel as quick... yet.Originally posted by Rd Runrr View Post+

Where did you get that figure from? There were several stock standard Golf R's at the dyno day and they made between 160-165kw. Most stage 1 cars were putting out 180-185kw.Originally posted by Scuby_snax84 View PostAm I reading this right.... A standard golf R made ~180awkw???

The torque varied quite a bit from one car to another actually. I took a photo of the leader board - below are a couple of kw and torque figures:
Stock Golf R
160.7kw / 297.9nm
165.9kw / 303.7nm
Stage 1 Golf R
186.5kw / 417.8nm
177.6kw / 338.3nm
187.3kw / 340.4nm
204.2kw / 354.5nm (my car - stage 1 tune but stage 2 parts)
Custom tuned (Recode). All these have HPFP upgrades, RS4 or better fuel pressure valves, upgraded intercoolers, down pipe etc
220.1kw / 437.4nm
206.7kw / 341.1nm
209.3kw / 408.4nm
195.4kw / 348.1nm

Sorry - didn't see that. I don't believe thats correct though. The stage 1 tunes are were getting around that figure. Unless the owner of said stock 180kw Golf R chimes in and corrects me.?? If so - he has a freak of a car.Originally posted by Scuby_snax84 View PostThe hawk posted a stock r did ~180kw.... See above.

Yes - one of the benefits i guess of the custom tuning process. Mind you, all these cars had more modifications than the lesser powered cars as well, so you would expect the higher kw and nm figures.Originally posted by Scuby_snax84 View PostCool, thanks for that Lucas. Interesting to see a difference of nearly 100nm in the custom tuned cars. That's a huge difference.
