I trashed my ContiSport CS2 (fronts only) at my last outing - the first event - however they were well worn, with maybe only 1mm of tread above the tread wear indicator bars. The wear was focussed on the inside half of the tread (both tyres) - not sure what that says about the XDL....!
I don’t want to harp on about it or cause a debate as it was a great day, but just a general observation from my point of view.
I noticed that people that where caught on the back section then wanted to drag down the straight rather than let people pass. So then people would try and pass under brakes at the end of the straight which I think was the problem people are complaining about. If someone catches you it makes sense to me to let them pass and then chase them. If they pull away they are obviously quicker. If you watch their lines and braking points, you might pick up something.
If someone caught me across the back section like Dom (so quick, laughed when the safety car tried to chase you down, I have it on video), I'd roll out of the accelerator on the straight to let them pass easily. I didn’t see the point of racing to the corner. So I didn't have any problems with people trying to pass under braking.
Well said Nathan. You did the same for me, you slowed to let me pass. We should make mention of this on the day. Everyone has similar straight line speed. Its the other parts where you catch people.
I think that was what made that commodore so irritating to most people aswell, around the corners it would hold everyone up, but on the straight most cars were nowhere near as fast, and those that were would still have struggled to get past it safely before the kink.
The little mk3 should have the front suspension and brakes changed over, maybe a rear sway and possibly a little more fo by this one, looking forward to it Also looking forward to not having to leave toowoomba at 5:00 to be there, as I'll be living down there by then

And (responding from the v2 thread), yep that was me. Sorry I couldn't stick around longer. Glad to hear that you got it sorted and made it home though.

hi Clay, put me down as well plus 1 sharing the same car. At this stage it'll be the orange Mk1 but depending on how we go I might let Kyle drive the beetle.....
Hi Clay, if there's room enough I'd like to be in again. This thing's practically sold out in one day! Crazy. Should have my car a little more sorted this time too.
