Everyone runs to their own pace, the ute wasn't the only one holding everyone up in the corners one of the others was euro, but if theres a car in your mirrors for every part of the track bar the straight it would be nice if you let them past. But as they said its up to the driver of the ca being overtaken and a lot of t comes down to that persons attitude. If you only like the straights try the drags

    Hi Everyone,

I was the spectator on the other side of the main straight this morning.

MK6 GTI with Detroits it was great to see all the VWs going around the track and being driven the way they should be

The grey r flew , the BMW had a nice note but the rs4 sounded fantastic!

Looked like you all had a great time.

So, many have showered the Commodore driver with adverse comments and false assertions.

He did not “spun on my mirror.. could have been dangerous to be following behind him closely”

Following closely is not a good idea in any situation.

He is not a “complete wanker”. Name calling is so juvenile.

As a responsible member of this forum, I have publically apologised to anyone who feels that they deserve it.

Now is the time for some facts ……

    • The Commodore was not the only non-euro car on the track.

    • He was chastised by QR officials and conformed with the direction to desist from drifting.

    • The Clio was flashing his lights between Eastern Loop and Shell/Ford Corner. How he intended to pass here is a mystery. If he had the legs, he could have passed on the Main Straight. He was given room to pass just past the Kink. Its happy laps not Race Day.

    • The 180/200SX was also given room to pass past the Kink, but managed to spin off the circuit right in front of us at the Karussell. Dangerous????

I am not a Commodore fan, but it did stay on the circuit and did OK down the Main Straight.

Finally, to those who have complained …. you can all relax now, he will not be attending future events.

Would have been good, I'm spewing that I forgot to turn it on!! Although it was also looking at the speedo, so maybe not such a good idea as I was nudging two bills down the main straight But I suppose, the guy didn't give us a speed limit so it's all good

There's a time and a place for what the guy in the ute was doing, that time and place is powercruise.

By the way, looking forward to seeing the videos & photos - I had my POV in car camera all ready to go but forgot to use it!!
I had my POV camera going but half of the footage is of the passengers head haha, probably more suitable for a driver only setup.

I agree about the time and place comments.
At least domlebo has appologised about the overtaking.
Commodores/people wanting to do skids are not welcome at future events though so i think we will just make it preferences for VW/Euro but you can have a family member along if they are going to play by the rules.

Can't wait to see some of the photos and videos of the day.

Weather turned bad this afternoon so it was lucky we got in when we did.

I will have a think on what restrictions we put in for the next one (forum members and family only or no commodores etc) to make it more suitable.
I think it is good to have a few different types of cars to see how they compare (Beemer etc) so i am open to having different brands we just have to make sure that people keep the spirit of this event how it is meant to be and not turn it into a harry's diner type experience.

I'll call up on Monday and see when the next one can be scheduled for.

Shame I didn't see Anthony in that freckin qik red Polo at all on the track - was keen to see if it could take the Beema down the straight!

Ben's car was simply too quick all round too - the extra 100+nm, less weight and AWD sure showed the way!

If we want to get technical it was a mk3 ;P But yes after a couple hours of head scratching, swearing, trying to override the control by hotwiring things, a ride to ****smith and then back to ****smith again we finally got it back off the ground and I got it home. Were you the person with the black Jap car (I think it was a 200sx? I dont really know anything but euro cars very well at all sorry) that stuck around for a bit? If so, thankyou very much for your help, I appreciate it.

I have to give the biggest thanks ever to I think it was Kyle and Brendan (or something like that? I really am absolutely terrible with names so I apologise if those are wrong which they probably are), who went well and truly out of there way to make sure I got it going again. No idea what I would have done without the help.

Apologies if my driving was a bit all over the place, definitely need a rear sway and some real tyres on the thing, not to mention some more power and better brakes

Oh yeah and that BMW and that RS4 were incredibly sexy. Loved both of them and chatted to both of you breifly. One of those red polos really did hammer too down the straight. That little blue renault was quite a beast too. Also nice to meet everyone I did, even though I still cant really put many names to faces and many faces to usernames Definitely will take you up on that rubber offer Tarmac, will measure it all up later.

Will agree with eveyone else though, that ute was a bit out of place and was even holding me up through the corners, and as you will all have seen my car has nothing haha. It sounded nice, and spinning wheels up in like 5th down the straight was quite impressive though, even if I wasnt a fan of how they were driving or there reaction to criticism.

Thanks Clay for going out of you way to organise such a great day! I agree with most of the other comments about the clio overtaking on croners (against the instructions provided) and appreciate Dom's apologies to the group. I would like to see it become a regular event and likes other, a VW day, i don't even car if some hotted up bugs want to track, they'd be awesome.

Does anyone know the guy with the RS4? That was by far the sexiest car on the track. I dont think ive ever seen 1 up close, i met him but then ran off to turn my car off. He left quickly.
As others have said, (not complaing just giving constructive criticism )That ute should not of been there. Its a VW day and and at least other euro's. Not a ute day. He actually let me past on the corners after he realized he wasnt as fast on the straight. So that was good, but i was stuck behind him with 4 others for about 4 laps which was stupid. At least someone told him what he was doing after.
I also had a chat to the guy in the Clio. I think he commented earlier. Hopefully know he realizes you can push the limits of your car Yes, but o er taking people into corners wasnt the best idea. I saw it happen on every corner. I was held up by 3 other slower cars which i had no problem with (it is a happy lap day) i was waiting for it to be VERY safe on a straight or be waved through and he over took me before i had that chance (through a corner) then dangerously did it to the other guys. My car is fast too mate but it wasnt the day to do it. Im happy that he apologized so thank you.
Its amazing that everyone is very similar in straight line max speed. Its in and out of the corners that power makes a difference.

I feel sorry for Ben if he couldnt get his car off the ground (literally). If i knew i would of gone and got him a new USB cable. dont forget to PM me your compressor board dimensions so i can give you that rubber to stop the vibration
Agree with you totally mr hairdresser!

Provocation can result in unjustified responses. If it is that physical threats were made, I apologise unreservedly.

That said, I have rearward video of several cars passing the ute.

Finally thanks Clay for an awesome day.

I hear ya. Won't happen again. "I" felt I was being very safe and making sure people knew I was coming through, but regardless.... if others felt that way then it will not happen again. Apologies. Like I said above: last thing I wanted was to piss people off.

    Dom
