Well home now.... and as usual after such a top morning on the road, now maintaining a level of satisfaction that only comes from a cheeky braaaap through the vic high country.
Few sensational runs in there and a few wrong turn offs!! (But hey wouldnt be a cruise without it!)
Was great to meet everyone and the old 8 valver much appreciated the italian tune thats for sure, mind you might be putting aside a bit of time to rotate the tyres.. hard yakka keeping up with turbos and V8's!!! (Especially with you Scotty - taking that TD to the limits and beyond!!! - Think a fused clutch is letting you off lightly.. lol) and hope I didnt slow down the run from Mary to Healville too much, did my best to give us a bit of breathing space whenever I could!
Great to meet you all... looking foward to getting another run in before winter hits us with too much wet weather and for those who are reading this, please just take a minute out of your day and spare a thought for our duck population!! (Especially you S3 drivers... lol )
Cheers!!

I said it as soon as I got out of the car and still mean it, very impressed with the way you held that Polo on that very fast run.
likewise, I had an amazing drive, really great stretch of road made more interesting by the greasy nature.
One of the better 'sprints' I have had for sure. Good job again keeping up the way you did through the bends.
Sorry for bringing unwanted attention to the group. That was an effing joke.
Scaring some ducks off the road... good laugh though!
Nice to meet you all.
Looking forward to more runs like that in the future.
Great photos also to everyone, thanks for taking and posting (I was too lazy to take the camera out of the car).Last edited by poli84; 02-04-2012, 12:44 PM.MY10 S3 Sportback - 6Sp Manual - Sprint Blue

the ducks - i was just in front of you, and i didnt even see them. i reckon, for the policeman, it was more about letting us know that he's got his eye on us, which is fair enough. i can only imagine what it's like if you're part of a holden/ ford cruise, or even worse - a jdm cruise (''right boys, pop your hoods and let's see who's got more than 2 intake mods!").
awesome fun. i'll be making the next one for sure!

hey gents, was an awesome run, thanks to all for coming out. I was slack this time and didn't bring the camera so no photos from me
.. sorry for the lack of updates but I was recently abducted against my will, obviously, and forced to swallow little green pills with 'facebook' written on them, whatever that is. Anyway after several days unaccounted for I recently awoke in a daze and spotted this thread ...
Eddy you and the crew are more than welcome to come and tackle the mountain with us anytime.
Gerard I think that coppa just needed a visible excuse to get out of the office and enjoy the sunshine .. and was maybe a little envious of your blue monster? Obviously he's a little protective of his town, still in rebuild mode, that was all but wiped off the map also. No doubt he'll get a chance to use a few better excuses when the falcodores come through
John get that A4 fixed stat mate
Greg I'll put my hand up for an easter run, but would need to be extra early to avoid the tourists ..

Does 7am leaving the Knox carpark sound good for Friday or Monday?
Less traffic on Monday but dryer roads on Friday

Too bad you (and no one else) came along though. There was bugger all traffic on the Reefton - Marysville run and not much to Healesville (in the direction I was going - heading out from Lilydale, it was wall to wall 4WDs with caravans, trailers or boats)Resident grumpy old fart
