MELBOURNE MONTHLY CRUISE - First weekend each month!
Good driving today guys !! Albeit maybe no longer welcome back to one particular town !!
you b7tch!!! i was going to reply first!
guys, it was such an awesome day today - great turn out and even though the roads over reefton were a little greasy, it was still lots of fun.
great to catch up with you rob, james, todd, ryan and the usual suspects, as well as to meet new faces - please dont be insulted if i forget names - the first time i hung out with james (red mk2, at vw jamboree a while ago) i had to ask his name like 3 times .... two broken snowboard helmets makes me a forgetful panda.
great mix of cars, which is awesome - it's always good to see variety and get to know what others are doing with their cars etc. awesome day of driving - the twisties had my shocks and brakes working, that's for sure!
james, great running with you - LOVE the sound of the mk2, and it looks damn smart on the H&R coilies, too
to the dude in the blue S3 who i ran with for the later part, across the top and coming down into marysville (sorry, again im bad with names!), thanks for leading me - i had a fcking AWESOME time trying to keep up, "fun, spirited driving" doesnt come close to describing how much i liked that run. hope the S3 is okay underneath after that friggin massive dip - that's a nasty one for sure.
brandon (silver evo) thanks for coming out and seeing what the VW Watercooled cruises are like. there was a bit of a runaround at gembrook after which i think you turned off, but hopefully you had a decent time, and hope you have fun with the kids at timezone! enjoy the skyline cruise tomorrow!
it's always a pleasure having a chat with familiar and new faces alike, so thanks everyone for contributing and making it a safe, but DAMN awesome day! it was so sick to have the weather we did - only a couple of months (at most) before it just gets too sketchy to drive up there in winter.
Awesome is a word that doesn't begin to describe the run....thanks to everyone making me personally feel welcome, being new on the forum had heaps of fun and can't wait for the next one fellas )
Likewise Scotty, always good to catch up. S3 was Gerard's. LOL, of all the ways to grab the attention of the cops.
'Excuse me guys, who owns that blue car?' 'Now there has been a complaint made........................ that you have terrorised.................
our ducks' WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Golf R, Rising Blue, 5 Door, DSG and some extra fruit.

On a serious note, thanks for welcoming me along boys (and ladies), it was my first time along to one of these drive days and it was a blast. You will definitley be seeing me around or chatting on the MK6 forums.

Stay Safe!
Yeh it was a good time today. Great to see new and old faces. Can be hard to do the rounds and talk to everyone on cruises. Friday nights at Tim's (DubAddiction) is a good meet up where there's more time for chatting. It's all informal, peoples just roll up if they are free on the night.

Absolutely awesome day guys! Was my first cruise out with this group...great bunch of blokes... Some beautiful cars... And the perfect day and roads for cruising. Love that you also arranged some controlled burn off to add some smoke effect to the bush run Hope I wasn't holding up the Blue R too much on the Reefton run, first time through that bit of road!

Nah mate all good. I was worried you may have thought I was hassling you in the corners. Entry, mid and exit corner speeds and braking points differ from car to car. Makes it harder if we travel on unfamiliar roads. You held your own fairly well I thought. Great to hear you and your partner enjoyed yourselves.
Oh and the smoke was supplied by Todd no doubt for a photo opportunity !!

Haha, the wife is currently having an afternoon nanny nap! Must have been concentrating too hard in the co-pilot seat! Yeah, the little Honda enjoyed the bit of open road, a welcomed change from the daily drive to work.

yep - i always brake early compared to others - i've observed that the speeds i can turn in at, are lower than petrol cars - i cant really just "hook" it in like one could in a lighter (non diesel) engined car.

nice to meet you at the end there bryan - glad you and the missus had a good day! a good old "italian tune up" (thrashing the sh7t out of your car) is always good for it, and once you've been up over reefton a few times you start to get comfortable/ familiar with it - sorta like the thousands of laps of the nurburgring we've all done on gran turismo haha.
