Feel free to go with our 2+ tune; as discussed we can customize SAI/N249 delete in the code, etc.
As with all of our products and services, if you are dissatisfied with the results, I am more than happy to refund all costs and to return your car to how it was prior to the upgrade.
Flexibility, honesty, customizability and ongoing support is what I provide. If the program drops a few KW short of the GIAC, so be it; we will do everything we can to squeeze the last drop of power out of the car, but if it still fails, then you have every right to go for the GIAC. This is how I conduct my business.
Definitely not "blaming" anything; at the end of the day, a number is just a number, but when the front drive results are consistently much higher than their AWD cousins despite slower real-life acceleration, then it's definitely worth discussing, no?
I thought it was worth revisiting this after the dynamometer reading vs gearing discussion in the Sydney April 16th Dyno Day thread. The issue is the way that inertial dynos work will always bias results towards cars with lower engine + drivetrain inertia. Since this inertia is added to that of the dynamometer, it will reduce the acceleration of the drum which in turn reduces the deduced torque from which the power is calculated.
On the road, the AWDs additional drivetrain helps drive the another set of wheels while a FWD or RWD car will have the undriven wheels indirectly accelerated by the body of the car which is in turn accelerated by the driven wheels. This means that the AWD car will accelerated more quickly (and have more top speed as well) than a direct comparison of the dynamometer readings would imply - even if traction is taken out of the equation by it being a high speed rolling drag (and this assumes that the overall gearing from flywheel to the dynamometer rollers is the same for the different car as well).
And the fact remains that the overall gearing of the car will affect the results too which tends to favour faster cars even more than their basic power advantage, since they normally have higher gearing for the same gear.
I now understand gldgti's distaste for the dyno fanboi trash talk

Very honest and knowledgeable in his dealings and an overall nice guy that provides a service that is second to none that comes with a friendly smile. Good old fashion quality customer service is hard to come by these days. I've bought a tune off him and extremely happy and will do again very soon so definately recommend him to anyone
Happy with it? what is the 'N' reference? is that like 10x newtonmeters?
John is telling me I can get 140-145kw ATW from the DNA 2+ tune with my mods.
What are your mods mate?
Yes, I am VERY happy with it. As u can see from the posts above, this is the service I get from John. He knows his stuff, and there's no bull*****. Once I get my next round of hardware mods, I'm straight back to him to have a tune put together to compliment them
