Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

That will easily shave 10kg's off bahahahahaha......

Honestly if ur light and can drive a kart well, u will be a lot faster than even someone like myself at 75-80kg, regardless of skipping around corners.

                  I guess I'm screwed then.

Only hassles I have is with acceleration. I have 120kg to keep the wheels on the ground though so long as I keep the momentum up.

                    Early December sounds good.

If anyone fancies a sneaky trial run at Lemans or one of the other ones in the meantime, let me know.

ive never karted, V, but im thinking of giving it a go, especially at what- $3 a lap? sounds pretty good to me.

only thing is, im in the triple digits club (i am a fat **** who's lucky i dont break snowboards @ 130kg+

meh, hey- i might not win, but if the kart can actually move me, i might learn a little bit more about track etiquette and corner lines...

                        bahhhhhhhhh

im so bloated, some might see it as not worth the time to rock up, but put me down... where are we going? just so i can make sure that the karts will actually propel my bloated arse....

Silhouette Karts in Somerton are pretty good; not as professional as Ace Karts/Lemans but it's actually better that way - 2 stroke karts that don't seem to top out and a fun bumpy outdoor makes it pretty sweet. The staff are laid back and don't care if you slide/drift the karts, as long as you aren't smashing others it's all good!

I would have a home ground advantage there though; went several times with my FSAE team last year, to drive the karts (I have a few of their cheapo plastic trophies) but also for testing our race car there.

Regardless of where we go, I should be up for it; I should probably try and lose a few kg's though! =)

there was a bit of interest about this at last mondays pub meet. will have ot investigate further.

The only stumbling block was a suitable time, and suitable venue, Wont be able to please everyone unfortunately i don't think!
