Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I'll add you to the list. Don't worry it will be a relaxed cruise. I'll be leading...we all know mk4 r32's are slow!

      uh, polo DIESEL, dude! lol

it'll have to be relaxed anyway because we all know how the spandex corporate sponsor brigade like to flock to the hills on weekends, in search of other corporate sponsor-clad spandex warriors with which to compare their varying degrees of visible corporate sponsorship...

I wouldn't mind bringing the Polo along (If the Golf drivers wouldn't mind )!

EDIT: I just read the first page, ignore my question about the date

Put my name on the list, I will confirm closer to the day.

          cool, man!

have you really thrashed your brakes yet? if not, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how always-there-for-you they are (i run a similar setup, sorta- rda slots and qfm a1rm's up front, stock rear rotors + qfm hpx's in the rear, trw race fluid)

i wanna see a new pog come along for sure- i reckon the 1.2tsi will outshine itself in the twisties (test drove one, was impressed to say the least)

No not really much of a thrashing yet. I was going to go with the A1RM's but apparently they aren't too good cold, how do you find them?

I actually took a drive up to Sassafras today, couldn't push it to much though due to slow drivers, cyclists etc but I enjoyed it.

the A1RM's are pretty damn noisy when they're cold.... my brakes are constantly squeaking in the front, and they're not quiet, inconspicuous squeaks either, but they DO do the job around town, when they're cold.... even brake bite during rushed braking (someone slamming theirs on to turn into the street back there, yesterday) is enough to pull you up safely.

looking forward to picking your brain about audio setup, too.

Got to drop wifey off at Tullamarine at 7.45 and then get home and swap cars, but should make it out to FTG by half nine.

Incidentally, am hoping the 'back roads' are in good nick - the suspension on mine is stiffer than the product of double-dropping viagra.

Okay. Bumping this up! I went out and did a recci run today. Basicaly the route will be start at Scoresby, head to dandenongs, belgrave then stop at Gembook for a coffee. Then back to Avonleigh, through Maccesfield, Yellingbo, Mt Evelyn, Monbulk, en-route to Olinda for lunch. There is a good mix of twisties, 80, 70k and some 60k bits. I will post up full pace notes in my first post ASAP. I will bring some hard copy pace notes on the day. This will be a pretty relaxed driving day, not a full-on fast-paced cruise. Now, the meeting time will be at 8:30 at Bunnings in Scoresby, Melway 73, A7, Ferntree Gully Road. We will be leaving at 9:00 am sharp. I'm not waiting for anyone. Please make sure you have enough fuel before we leave. Sundays are busy in the Dandenongs, and this is to avoid as much traffic and cyclists as possible.

Sounds good! I work 5 minutes from that Bunnings.

Now, just to let everyone know, if your next to me at the lights I am going to try to drag you off, even though I have one of the slower cars

EDIT: Oh, this is my first cruze so be gentle
