Was an awesome weekend and great meeting the few Melb crew, that actually made it, though I was off doing my own thing aswell, extra mention to Stu for the entertainment (Quarterpounder no bun) and also Waterboy for organising the accommodation (If I needed it), hopefully I can get down there for DOVW10 and meet some more of the crew.

I had a crazy weekend, who would have thought?

Note to self, dont attempt vigorous lowering of a car at 10pm before an interstate trip.

I woulnd the coilovers down a lot, so i then needed a spacer for the fronts to clear the struts. Made a 5x100 hubcentric spacer into a 4x100 and it still balanced sweet. Woke the tyre shop guy up at 1am to get me some longer wheel bolts!!!!

Suprisingly little rubbing considering how low it is. There was a bit of lip reduction surgery performed though!
These were only last minute ebay wheels due to selling my other BBS.
          I quite like them though.

We left late in convoy with JasonO`s Scirocco and Beau in JayJays Mk2. Jay rode with me to tune the QPeng on the way.
Tuning was OK, till the pc died, still some work to be done.

Some pics from the way down.

Always an adventure with a Crazy Yank in tow. The no speed tickets scenario was achieved by sending Jason at a legalish speed off 5 mins ahead, to phone us any dramas. Saved us at Lake George, I`m sure that patrol car is not in plain view.

Got to Canberra and cleaned the cars, got to the show at 10.30ish, Judging was over, missed entering. Had a wander round the show, but lots of you dubbers left pretty early, so didnt get to see your cars.

BMWs and Mercs were great. Had a good Rev of an R8, I dont reckon you need 16 speakers with an engine note like that.
Spoke to lots of dubbersand was up for the burn through the hills. My sally travelling companions needed to go home early to finish their knitting, so I tagged along with some of the Melb Crue and obviously the ACT rally track nuttas.

This is what Matt took whilst riding Shotgun in the Rocco.

          Where are your pics Dylan??

Quick stop for a bit of a revive, thanks to Waterboy for the Radler.
Dylan your BBS look sweet. Car needs to be faster

Had a wicked time fanging it through the hills. Vaglamesh your car is rapid and holds on. Wish I could have filmed the back of your car through the corners, Jarrad will verify, it was great. Aaron, you are a lunatic, and that road is nuts. Need to tune the rocco some more, still too rich. Might up the boost a bit too

Had to bail and drove back to Sydders Solo, took ages, wouldnt have made it without a revival nap in a layby.
Nearly home and had a bit of drama with the plod. Something about not overtaking a marked policevan who is speeding and checking the status of your points before asserting facts! No ticket, but I got a lift home. Cheers to Brenton for collecting the motor.

All good a week later, much rested. Will drive down the day before next time and be better prepared.

Big props to the Melb boys for the interstate trip, SEDF in the Rocco was enough for me without A/C.
Nice to see you all, old friends and new and the show was great.

          Peace.

Matt, the current BBS looks better than the previous set I reckon. Looks mean as lowered like that!
            Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.
            Present: Mk3 Golf variant.

                    Cheers mate.

Thanks for the pictures and comments Loon. defiantly need to get it lower to clean up that wheels gap. stupid frame always dragging.
This one is staying slow. next bora will have a bit more get up and go.
Hope to have my plans done by the next meet.

your Scirocco is a monster, like the new wheels and the sounds it makes

ill put some pictures up soon, i never seem to be at home to get my hands on the camera.

                    Is GAF a annual event?

As it is a GTI, it's turbo'd but, from the looks of it some water-air intercooling action happening there! Mmmm... maybe in the Mk1
