  • Exactly- there will almost always be things that will need to be outsourced because the owner of the car does not have the requisite skill/equipment etc. Fair enough!

I might say for the record, I don't think there is anything wrong with paying a workshop to do the work- just don't claim it as your own!

    • At the end of the day, it's just a car show. You should be coming for the social event, not to win a plastic trophy.. If you want a trophy, let me know.. I've got stacks of them i don't want from kart racing..

Whether the person has done the work themselves or not is a bit of an objective issue.. Personally i don't really dig the whole "cheque book car" thing. But at the end of the day, you are judging what you see infront of you, not who did it.

However... Generally speaking people who do the work themselves tend to be a bit more creative and enginuitive. So you tend to see something a little different- certain items modified, from other vehicles or items used in a different orientation than factory. These things all add up in my books.

totally agreed. i do it more me, and even know that was my first car show it was more of a "here;s my car with my ideas, just putting it out so people can see".

i can add like hundred gymnastic trophys to the giveaways if people want a trophy for their car

Yep. He/She with the most friends wins.
You know you are getting old when you cancel your order for a 3.6 CC and buy an Icelandic Gray TDI CC instead.

                  • Agreed, peoples choice award is alot less hastle, and a much more fair way of judging something like this.
                    Worked well at SEDF!

not at all. Come to DUBFEST. everyone is friends! It really is as simple as voting for the car you like best!

I hate it when comments and thoughts like this come out, trying to ruin and otherwise pure motive!

People's choice is awesome. Look how well it worked at both SEDF's... Cuts out any of the BS and gets everyone involved. No one can whine about the judging when they were judged by their peers!!
