OLD ikea carpark is a good idea - Super Amart have not moved in yet so there are no cars (but they might be in by 3rd June)...
Another option is the 2nd SE Busway carpark at Eight Mile Plains - there is room for 100+ cars and there is not going to be a car there on a sunday morning... Has direct access to the freeway leaving and is easy to get to from the freeway or the gateway..!!!!
... and there are plenty of fast food places should anyone from Toowoomba or elsewhere need sustenance.

I don't know where you guys are talking about.
I agree that the Toowoomba crew will need a feed by the time they get into Brissie, as will I... which is why i suggested a fast food carpark, and this one only because it's the same one we used last time. Mt Gravatt made sense because it has very direct main paths coming in from north, south and west. 8 mile plains is in the same sort of area. We now have 28 cars, which is a big cruise by any standard, so we need the carspace of a big carpark. Please specify the exact location of the carpark you guys are suggesting, and what food will be avaliable at 8.30 on a Sunday morning...
It's great to see the input from everyone. I favoured the top of Mt Gravatt myself from a photographic point of view, but it would be a squeeze if we push up over 30 cars . Once I have the details on this 8 mile plains place, I'll research and find out if it will be appropriate for us to use...

Cheers all!!!

Ok i have attached a very vague map... picture garden city is at the very top left of this map... I have indicated some alternate routes for people to get to the carpark from the gateway and SE freeway & Logan Motorway... I think i have all directions covered... this is a very central location!!
There are no fast food places directly in the area of this carpark but i am sure people will sort breakfast out on the way before they get to the carpark or have some cruise snacks onboard...!!! I live 2 mins from milton maccas so will be going there beforehand hehe...
Mt Gravatt is very scenic but 30 cars would be pushing the capacity and getting everyone down would be a hassel IMHO...

Edit - Added suburb view for better ID on location - please excuse my BS paint.net skillz lol!!!
guys, sounds like its going to be a big one!! my advise to you guys is always allow for another 10 or so cars as there is alot of people that follow our org but dont post.so if the car park only allows 30 cars and you guys have already 28 definates, well it will be chaos.....
cnr of logan and kessels rd. room for about 1000 cars, shell across the road, macy d's just up logan rd 30 sec. It doesn't need to be a scenic view we are going to see heaps of **** all day, lets just all get together in a place with plenty of room....
And to add to that almost everyone knows garden city shopping centre. And no there won't be many cars there yet as the shops opeb at 9, we should be on the road by this time, checking out the views on the way down.
I don't care where the start site is......could someone please make a firm choice. Sounds like we need room for lots of cars. We need a location where we are not competing with granny's in Corollas for parking spots. We can get food before hand.

Grinning from ear to ear!!
I just thought of a great place, the Calmvale pub car park i met revnit ther the other day don't think there would be any cars at that time and Mc donalds is linked off the car park logan motor way just down the road.
it's on the cnr of compton rd and beaudesert rd can't miss it.
just idea's have to stir it up a little i'm getting excited.
good to see some feed back doc.
Nice and central to everyone, good access and plenty of car parking.
I think we're all big boys and girls and can get our brekkie b4 we arrive, so we'll get there at 8:30 fed and watered, take plenty photos, meet, shake hands, synchronise our watches and CB's, and head off at 9...
This will be the biggest cruise yet guys. Get behind it
I hope Eight Mile Plains suits all. Garden City was a great idea Dave, but we've had some opposition to it and I get lost in it (it's like a frikkin maze), Mt Gravatt is too small, Ikea is not central, so... Eight Mile Plains is my pick.
