Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Heads up for my fellow Dubbers of Townsville.
Our local constabulary are using a silver Hyundai i30 as a unmarked car... I've seen it twice in the last week with the blue and reds flashing in the grille.
Watch out!Ian

The big thing, of course is, if you're doing nothing wrong, you've got nothing to worry about....Ian

Eventually, if you're observant, you get to spot most of them anyway.... perhaps there is an arguement to be made for moving the unmarked cars around between districts every few months.
I do have a problem with speed traps that are hidden and speed camera vans though, as I have always thought that the idea is to stop people from speeding, not catch them speeding.
As an example high visibility speed monitoring on identified black spots, would stop people speeding in the black spot area thereby making it safer...it would be more effective than a speed camera van for example.. I certainly reckon it would be more of a deterrent than receiving a camera fine x days later.
Not knocking the police for doing their job, more questioning the effectiveness of that job, and the tools utilised for a given situation..I guess.
My 2 bobs worth.Ian
