How about this revised route? It shortens the trip a little bit too which is kinda nice. The previous link seems to imply that the road has been sealed.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The new route will cut the saturday drive down to 250kms and avoid the dirt roads hopefully but your enthusiasm is duly noted! haha

ahhh DAMN! never mind im still in! prob find some dirt roads and swamps by myself then! ahahaaha

i reckon we start taking names down and possibly payments of the cabin if your 100% sure your going.... after house payment, it shouldnt be no more than a $200-$300 weekend, well for me it would be... and i do sorta blow cash uncontrollably but im sure people can rummage up $2-300 in 5-6 weeks?

but im deffo down, possibly the missus too...

But yeah if people are worried about the money side of things. Youre probly looking at $77 accomodation + 2 or 3 tanks of fuel + food.

Put me down as a Yes, I have got that week off work.
Count me in for the Looooong Drive. Let me know when you want some cash for the Deposit at HarrietVille.
                    Have a spare seat aswell.

                    Cheers

There are 22 beds in 5 bedrooms so depending on how many people end up coming there may be a bit of sharing going on.

more details about the place can be found here.

one other thing I have been looking into is the availbility of premium unleaded fuel. There are a few places in Bright that sell 95 Unleaded so it may be worthwhile bringing along a bottle of octane booster if youre particular about your fuel. There is a mobil serve at harrietville but i havent been able to ascertain what they sell.

It would probly best to do a topup at the last major roadhouse on the way there.

                            Hi Guys,

I recently went on the Omeo - Talangatta section guys are umming and aaring about.
There are 3 ~8km dirt sections, and my R36 a mates R32 and Lowered GTI had no drama's what so ever even though it was pouring rain the entire way.

Highly recommend the road, as outside of the dirt sections it was the best road I've ever driven.

This is the route we followed on the Saturday, took us 12 hours including stops:

                            HAVE FUN!

                              Hey Tim

Just wanted to tell you that you have picked some of the most awesome driving roads in mainland Australia. I have driven on all of these roads at some point in the last 4 years, and you guys will regret nothing!!
I would love to join you for this trip, but I can't.

By the way, see if you can crack the 7min 28 mark between the Tawonga Gap turn off's at Tawonga and Germantown...

I havent driven them for about 4 years now but last time I did I drove 5000kms in 5 days and did a crazy trip from melbourne all the way to brisbane taking in as many of the coolest roads I could find. These were truly the most epic that I encountered.

I have been talking about doing this cruise for years. Hopefully it finally comes together. Just need a few more people in to make it happen.
Keep in mind if anyone wants to come along but doesnt think their car is up to it there should be plenty of spare passenger seats. Could be a nice cheap way of getting in on some of the fun.
