wasnt easiest photo to get, took awhile to work our way up towards you, as you were having bit of fun with that commodore ahead of us i think.

had great day, more casual cruise was a nice change and couple of longer breaks worked well. brakes had bit of workout though following a subaru down the mt but had a little burst in places which made up for it

    great photos and great day

        Couldn't agree more.

It was a great way to say goodbye, especially for a person that i've heard so many great things about (unfortunately, I never met Dave).

            Hey I didn't say anything

            Another for good measure.

edit: Oh and Trent, that $20 I gave you wasn't a donation, it was the first of many down payments on your car, I want it bad

                • Very happy to hear we raised a bit of money for the Cancer Council. Great to meet Dave's family and the rest of you forumites. Awesome photos.

Hey Alex how do you change the colour on the red polo's. If that run was slow and calm then I'm in for a real shock I think.

For those that asked not that this was an economy run but the Golf 6 TSI averaged 6.2l/100km for the 383km trip from the coast and back.

Good to meet you mate. If you're referring to our little blat out through the cane fields with just the four of us don't worry we were giving it a bit of stick then that wasn't the slow and calm bit.

That's some pretty excellent economy happening there. Why you'd even worry about the diesel when you can get those kind of figures is beyond me.

                    Cheers,
                    Trent

                        • Sounds (and looks) like a good day was had by all.

im PI***D off that my car chose Sunday morning to need a new battery !
it wouldn't start in the cold of the morning here. and by the time i got a new battery and installed it,
there wasn't much point in trying to catch up with everyone.

and i am in Brisbane at the moment too.....
would so have loved to come along.....

sorry again that i couldn't make it.

As for the colours, they are not edited in any way, shape or form. That's just the way they turned out on the camera

And I agree with Trent when me says that, why bother with a diesel!! I stupidly forgot to check my average once I got back to Brisbane but it wouldn't have been much better than that..

The lads have been keenly awaiting the first economy figures to be posted from the run. A great watercooled.org tradition.
