i have recently relocated to brisbane, i thought it might be nice to catch up with a few fellow dubbers. any suggestions for a drive day would be welcome. thanks!
This month is out for me but the might be a chance of a drive around about somewhere in November or very early December. Failing that, not until Jan for me. I'm gathering a list of the interested and hope to throw some dates and ideas out there soon. Mind you, I'm the boss of NOTHING so am keen to hear ideas for drives that others may have.

I am being pushed at work (new job) to do extra time atm and up to Christmas... that's not to say I couldn't blow a Saturday/Sunday if need be
I do not really want to take charge and organise the day out. I can only suggest that mount Nebo, or Toowoomba (your stomping ground i believe, Dr. Spine) would be good options.
Eek, never done this before - don't want to disappoint haha
So it seems that so far we have SilverMk1 at the Sunshine Coast, eestison in Brisbane and me up in Toowoomba. Here's an idea. I know by experience that there are some great scenic roads that run from Toowoomba across to the Sunshine coast (via the Brisbane valley). The twisty and windy stuff behind the glasshouse mountains / Beerwah is especially fun.
We could start in Toowoomba and move our way towards Beerwah, normally that's about a 1h 45m drive. All the way to the coast takes about another 25-30 minutes. We could find a good place for lunch. What do you guys (or others interested in joining in) think?

that sounds great doc! i am booked for 18th/19th of november (brother's 30th at byron bay). anytime between now and then would be a good time - as long as i can let work know it will not be a problem
*edit
i can bring my laptop and VAG-COM if anyone wants to have a demo or get some programmable features set. i have a hex-can cable that is good for late/current audi/vw models.
You can count me in for a drive guys. Iam keen for early november, the ettomaga pub is a good spot for a meeting place. It's 10mins from beerwah. There is plenty of parking. Or we could drive up to Maleny (nice drive) 30mins to have a coffee if thats suits. What part of the sunny coust you from silvermk1?
moved up in jan, i live in coolum ive only seen 1 golf and 1 mk1 cab around, starting to get my golf along now, have no time to take it to a workshop or the trimmers. , where u live??
I have a mk 5 golf, dark silver, its only a 1.9 dsg but still goes great, I am ok for any day, any where, my weekend are free, my wife works on weekends.
So it seems that we've got 5 (including me) interested in a SEQ drive day.
We've got:
Wheelzy72 from Caloundra, silverMK1 from Coolum, eestison from Brisbane,
aliasmk2 from Byron Bay and Me (Dr Spine) from Toowoomba.
This is a good number to start with but more would be even better. Anyone else out there??
What does everyone else drive? Are we all in Golf's? sounds like we've got atleast MK1, Mk2 and Mk5 golfs. A range of models could be fun.
All we need to do now is co-ordinate a date and day (Saturday or Sunday?)
and agree on a meeting location and where / how far we will go.
Thoughts?
a sunday would be more suitable for me, saturdays from now and until the end of the year are almost exclusively for work - got to keep the people happy that pay for my toys/bills (in that order of priority hahaha).
