Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    • Have a look here kids if you use Shell V-Power.

Since we'll be doing a few kms, this should save us all a few dollars on petrol. Make sure you bring your 4c vouchers as well.
      Cheers,

          • Heya people, Subway is ordered!

3 platters of 18 peices, each peice is a third of a foot long; so i've assumed we'd all on average eat 2 each??

It breaks down to $2.75 a peice, i'm happy to take $2.50 a peice so you can bring a fiver for 2

There's 54 peices all up and 25 definate peoples, maybe 28.

I wasnt sure if I should have bought more but I dont want left overs as it'd be wasted money for me What do we think? get two more thirded foot longs incase we're a bunch'o pigs

Nah, I'd say that would be perfect. I would probably only eat 1 anyway, so there's an extra there...

Thanks for organising that - I'll go get the soft drinks on Saturday.

This is shaping up to be the best one ever.

Yeah it's good to see there's this sort of interest in a non-professional organised event. Lets get this watercooled scene building right up!
I'm really looking forward to this, only two more sleeps

Alex, I'm happy to pay $3 a piece. You did go to the effort of organising it and you will be carrying it around weighing down your superlightweightmobile, so I think a 25c surchage on each piece is not unreasonable.

                    • I"m still well keen for the "post meet" proper drive...
Have quicly revised it and am now looking at something similar to the following:

I did the tambo/beechmont drive about a month ago and it was pretty awesome coming down the hills, and the twisties were really well suited to the gti

So, whos coming for a proper

That's the same route we did when we went to the Irish Pub... we started off in Currumbin and went to Murwillumbah and ended up at the Jacobs Well offramp via Natural Bridge... depending on how tired we are after the first one, maybe we'll join you on the drive home... Broady likes the twisties too.

                          • Well my purchase of the vr6 fell through, he had 3 weeks to get a rwc and didn't, and I won't buy without one, and it was all very dodgy, so not buying anymore.

I'll still come on the cruise tho, passenger with oliverconnell. My friend will come with as well probly.

Well he initially said, yea no problem with rwc, I'll get it tomorrow, came back with "ye broken window needs replacing", then went for another rwc, "yea rear wiper water pump fix", then "it's all good, getting rwc friday, you'll be driving away sat, I'll give the engine a steam clean and detail the car too", how nice I thought, then "I was too busy at work, you can take the car without rwc and get it done in your own time, it's all perfectly legal", then "oh yea engine clean was because of oil that was there from when I cleaned the sump", so I look it up and it's probably an engine leak, so I ask if he will sign a sheet that says that the engine clean is the only thing for the rwc, but he declines and instead lowers the price by $600, so clearly there's something else wrong. Basically if there was a new problem every time he went to get the rwc, and he didn't want to mention a broken wiper water pump, then it just doesn't sound right.

I'm not mechanically minded, don't like being stuffed around, so wasn't very happy with any of this, it's gone on for almost a month now.

He's got my $560 deposit, and I have receipts and text messages explaining the deposit, so I hope he returns it without troubles.
