Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

jeez, what a shame . . .
on another note, just in case, god forbids, if either 1) We dont have enough car park space and 2) No tables.
1) i would imagine it'll be ok but just incase should we have a back up plan at all?!
and 2) can we all throw a picnic rug in the boots?

hmmm, car park space... I'm sure we'll find something - I don't mind walking a bit if we land up having to park down the road... Broady might complain tho..Mrs Broady69

URGENT!!!
I've just had a chat to one of the guys in the office that lives down that way and he said it would be near impossible to get a car park this weekend. The weather SHOULD hold off and the surf will be up all weekend.... people will flock to Rainbow Bay. He suggested another place for the meet to be the Twin Towns carpark.... see the map below.
The red circle is where we have organised to go, the green circle is where we could go....just around the corner really and situated by a nice inlet/lake. The access point to this big carpark is at the very top of the green circle. Either we could go there or somewhere along Coral St (see bottom right of map).
We can decide at the Robina petrol station anyway so no one gets mixed up!

Hey
Good thing to have other options available in case of no parking.. thanks for getting the info.
I think a 3rd option could also be Marine Parade (the area just above the green circle on your map). I had a look on Google maps and zoomed in on the area, and there's a whole long line of car parking there, so that could also be one to look at if needed. It's also right along the beachfront and there's a park there too, so it might be busy, but worth looking at as another option.
Yea, I'd say let's decide once we're all at Robina, because not everyone will be looking at this thread again until Sunday, and we don't want to confuse anyone... so let's all get to the meeting points and then take it from there.Mrs Broady69

I really hope the weather stays nice
Those options sound good.
Man, I hope so too..... Accuweather says showers in the afternoon... but then again it said showers in the afternoon of my wedding day, and it cleared up beautifully just for my photos..
Here's the weather forecast.

...and here's the Bureau of Meteorology forecast. Go down to the Gold Coast/Tweed Heads forecast... "showers increasing to rain"

You can also drive into the park that is just to the right of the green circle, next to the Twin Towns car park. It's a much nicer option. There's no tables there though.
And just where Coral street makes that little corner is another car park. It's not big, but the surrounding area is quite nice. This one would be my pick."One art please!" --->http://benno.redbubble.com
