  • QLD Cruise details: Dates and Route

    Hey guys

Okay, so now that we've had voting and discussions, the details are as follows:

We're going for a cruise to Rainbow Bay, on Sunday 29th of March.

Attendees so far, are as follows:

    [-Polo GTI-]
    Poison & Broady69
    migolf
    Ki11z
    seangti (bringing along 99 FGT)
    jasn78
    isaw
    mikepologti
    Treza360 + 1
    dieselcentregc
DaveMack (maybe, well....HOPEFULLY!) wish you a speedy recovery mate, hope to see you there!
    salem1
    AusScare + 1
    oliverconnell + 1
    VWindahouse (maybe)
    BrisGTI
    byza
    philthy
TGT20 (if he has his dates right this time)
    Aleksii (maybe)
    Japtaxi (maybe)
    [-Polo GTI-] 's mechanic and his girlfriend - 1 x MK2
    ENERG1
    Eddy

    (John, are you coming with???)

This is where we'll be heading.....

    Rainbow Bay

Brisbane guys are meeting up at 10:00 at this venue (Miles Platting bus carpark):

    Brisbane Meeting Place

The Brisbane crew will be leaving at 10:20 SHARP. If you are not there by that time, either catch up with them on the road, or meet us at the next meeting point (Gold Coast Meeting point).

The Gold Coast guys are meeting up at 11:00 at this venue (Robina petrol station on Highfield drive):

    Another map:

This is the complete route we will be following:

    Route Map

And this is where we are headed: (thanks KI11Z, I stole your pics again - by the way - since you have been there, does that mean we'll be following you???)

cogdoc can't make it anymore, so I will get some cool drinks and bring an esky. Drinks cost $1 each, so make sure you bring money with.
Alex is gonna stop at Subway on his way in and pick up some platters of subs... make sure to bring money with so we can pay him for them.
    Thanks!!!

Also, some of you may already have Broady's number... if you would like to get the phone numbers of some of the guys at the meeting points, please PM them directly. Broady and I will be at the Gold Coast meeting point, so if you want his number or mine, please PM me and I'll give it to you.

A good suggestion for everyone: PRINT OUT the route maps... that way if anybody goes missing or falls behind, or the front guys drive too fast, we all know the direction we're going, and can either catch up or meet at the meeting points. Looking forward to this being an awesome run.

    Will see you all there!!!

I'm in for the Rainbow cruise.

For the Gold Coasters, if we want to cruise with the Brissy folks we need to meet somewhere near the motorway. Traffic lights break cruises up.

There's a VW dealership next to the motorway at the Alexander offramp where we could all climb back onto the motorway and go from there?

        Cheers

I'm not Bossy!!! I just know whats best for everyone.

I just feel a sunday would be a better day (29th March) to give everyone a chance to get their cars sorted on the Saturday (cleaning, repairs.....MODS etc.). What time would we be looking at meeting down there? About midday to 1pm?

Damn that is a busy weekend for me. 'bday and then Vfest.

I might try to come along to the next one, or at least come to watch at lakeside.

                  Have a good one all!

ok, not sure what Sands is doing? but should everyone needing to drive down from brisbane and above want to meet up at the Miles Platting bus carpark again??

Gold Coasters, perhaps you should organise somewhere for us to meet up with you since you know the area better? somewhere not to far off the highway and not many traffic lights

Also what time should we plan on getting down there for? 11?

I'll quote myself from the other thread about this cruise, I think this is a good place for us GC'ers to start. If it's away from the motorway, we'll get split up, so I kept it pretty much on the motorway. The guys from brissy can just pull straight in here off the M1 to meet up and we can all jump straight back on when we are ready to continue.

                        slightly edited...

Get out your street directories and have a look if you like. You take Exit 79 and there is service road exit for the petrol station pretty much straight away. after the petrol station, you literally drive 200m up the road and you join back the motorway.
