i also think its a top idea and a good thing to have a minimum output so that it's not too boring
+ fingers crossed there'll be more than just mk5's with "APR" . . . .

Not to take away from the thread topic too much. But yeah i reckon a Go to woah would be a great idea. Its not only rewards the fastest car. You have to be a good driver to put your power down and be able to keep a handle on the braking side of things too. Especially difficult in a fwd. Big power may hinder more than help!
Seriously to make a top weekend all that needs to be done is to copy the formula that many events already use.

i'd like to see anybody who is really eager to get on, from a 1.6 carby to a 200+kw awd/fwd/rwd.. wouldnt bother me either way as long as it doesnt run 20" chromies lolWhat’s behind you doesn’t matter..

if you open it up to the ford/holden/GTR brigade then 200ATWKW would not be that difficult - my GT-P has been dynoed at 286.
I also understand AWD are more tricky on dynoes and might slow the pace of the day right down2007 Audi RS4 with: APR ECU Upgrade; JHM Quick Shifter; Milltek Catback and Downpipes; KW V3 Coilovers; Argon Creative Carbon Fibre Splitters

yeah any ford/holden can easily hit this, so most of the jap cars with big power! btu we're vw/audi/seat here damnit lol.Originally posted by gareth_oau View Postif you open it up to the ford/holden/GTR brigade then 200ATWKW would not be that difficult - my GT-P has been dynoed at 286.

awd on dyno, not long.. last 2 years we've had over 40 cars each dyno day and they get them on and get them off almost as quick! What’s behind you doesn’t matter..

Drive a thousand km's to run a car on a dyno that I can do 800m from our workshop - no thanks.
Drive a thousand km's to do 40 laps of Wakefield - yes please
Make it a real shootout like the magazines do - get their drivers to run it around a track & compare other stuff - suspension setup, braking, cornering - then you might get some real interest in people traveling distances for the event
We have offered to do this with MK5's but struggle to find even a single other MK5 to compare to (an we would travel to Sydney for this & Motor magazine will do the test)
As much as I like a car show, it's a long way to go to see a bunch of cars sitting around..

I think everyone is missing the whole point of this . This is not replacing any events , this is going to be run in the afternoon/ night .Originally posted by Guy_H View PostDrive a thousand km's to run a car on a dyno that I can do 800m from our workshop - no thanks.

You cant run track days and other events at night , well you could but Sat already is a whole day spent at the track already . Im adding an event which would suit people time wise . Who would go to a motorkhana out at Goulburn at 5pm after work ? If this doesnt go ahead then there will be no events in this time slot !
And Guy the other Golf MK5's are all in Melbourne . AFAIK there isnt any in Sydney .Bug_racer supports the rebellion of the euro revolution

I don't know if many of the aircoolers would be interested in this event, [also due to the power restriction] so would that make it more difficult to have this as an official national's event, [like the sprint is now an official event]

What would be a good spectacle is to have the Aircooled big HP drag cars run on the dyno - should see some big HP numbers & as well it will make a great noise for the spectators.
Not being from Sydney - how long does it take to get from Goulburn to Fairfield? - Seems like a few hours at least - makes it hard to cram everything in on a weekend.

Alteast a couple, would be a very tight schedule and we can't forget that this is a aircooled organisation and to create other events without there involvement would be bad I guess.Originally posted by Guy_H View PostNot being from Sydney - how long does it take to get from Goulburn to Fairfield? - Seems like a few hours at least - makes it hard to cram everything in on a weekend.I'm soo euro even my missus is shaved...
