try it in the vr6, you'll find it takes 1/2 the time as what it did in the 8v afterall, you've got 4 more valves total

Haha definately, my cousin took just over 3 hours from Bonnyrigg in his fully BA Falcon with 3 other hefty blokes... The latter probably contributed most to the length of the journey though!

Goulburn from Syd City has always taken me under 2 hours!

Quicker at night, must be because no wind lag from other vehicles and trucks?!$#

For those that said it will be boring you have the opportunity to put forward something to do on the Friday night for approx 4 hours , remembering there is a track day all day Sat and a show and shine all day Sunday .

I reckon 2 days of VW fun is plenty already for most families and interstaters.

Some of us have family and other commitments and so have to limit the time we spend playing with VWs.

Surely any car that can produce big numbers on a dyno should be able to come to Wakefield and have some hot laps. More fun than standing round a carpark IMO.

I`ll be at wakefield with the 20VT Rocco and then I`ll go home and clean it ready for the nats the next day. Thats more than enough VW action for one weekend, at least as far as the Mrs and Kids are concerned.

Im really looking forward to this years nats and dare i say it my MK2 turbo may nudge 200kw atw it got 148 then the spark wasn't strong enough and a new clutch died so we dropped boost back down a little for 138 kw atw. But with a full tune to be done shortly it could be a contender.
Wakefield is going to be AWESOME!!! Even if we dont do a dyno evening....

It might be plenty for most , but in reality thats just your assumption isnt it ?

Yeah a lot of us have commitments , but its over a years notice so surely you can make some arrangements ? Anyway who says there will be a wakefield park day next year ?

looks like this will go ahead , the numbers represented on here are , well , just people who wont be attending anyway . 3 tuners so far have expressed interested and Im yet to really approach any yet .
Big numbers on a dyno doesnt necessarily mean the people would want to take it on the track . My VR6 will never go on a track yet make close to double the power of most cars there .

Could this be like the one they held at the Auto Salon?

Those who find the dyno 'too boring' can continue looking around the show and those who are interested can watch the dyno...

I don't see how that wouldnt work... or is there something i overlooked???

Can I come if I have my car running with a GT3076 by then?
I'd doubt it will be to its full potential in a year but I may have a BT on my current engine for a while.

I think it's a good idea on a commercial side of things
Maybe have a power/capacity challenge or something..

                              2 MAX.

Takes 2.5 to get from Canberra to fairfield..

You could probably do it in 1 if you were keen.

Thats what I was thinking, rather than a different day, you put it in a corner of the show with different cars running throughout the show day for people to watch. Those interested could watch it all, with breaks to looks at all the VW porn around the rest of the show

Only down side is you then need a portable dyno.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.
