Matt I actually did come to the Nats, I got there at like 8 and left when we got kicked out by the Air Coolers in the undercover parking, even though I didn't have a carI still came down to support the watercoolers.

And if your talking about why my car wasn't there well it was pretty much in a state of well lets point and laugh at it, thats because this was taken the day before the Nats and I don't even have a towbar let alone a trailer

I'm banking on my car being ok for the drive. I'm 100% in agreeance with an early morning run, I think that is by far the best option so far. Question is, do we do it on saturday morning after potential friday exams?

If my car isn't in working order then I'm coming with Mischa. And a camera. And too many photo's of my car

Its probably not a good idea to attempt major work on your car on the lead up to a show.

The same applies for you Mickey, you`ll never do the timing chains in time for DOVW, if at all.

I try and be positive mate, but I`m a realist.
Not on a high horse, its just a major job that experienced mechanics would be wise to be wary of. Hard to do at home with minimal tools.
I hope you both prove me wrong.

                I'd like to.

Matt, I don't think assuming that I won't finish my mechanical repairs with a fair few people (with good knowledge/experience/tools) on this forum is being positive, or real. None of us have any idea how well/bad we will do, and this isn't the place to be being pessimistic about it. Just wish me well being the nutter I am to attempt my own timing chain, yeah?

BOT, I'd like an answer to my question...would it be a saturday morning ordeal?

I admire the attitude Mickey and will assist and encourage as much as possible. Just being realistic and making you aware that you are a nutter to attempt that job. Particularly in a small window before an interstate trip and a car show. Good Luck.

I'd be looking at a Friday morning drive down with the following day for pimpin' and polishing (and to recover from drinks the night before so I'm ready for Saturday night drinks ).

                      What are the accomodation options?

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

if worse comes to worse I will still be down there supporting the watercoolers thats for sure with or without the car.

I may have to leave the chains to a proper mechanic
