Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I dont even have a mk 1 anymore () and I still want them! cool as.
couple things. you'll need different wheel bolts (or studs) centrebore spacers and you *may* have trouble clearing the front brakes on a mk 1.
then tyre size, if they're actually 8" wide, i dont know what the hell tyre you'd run! (to try and keep it low profile still)
From the info he's given, I figured it out to be about ET19. which is pretty good for an 8" on a mk 1! hopefully his measurements were accurate!

thats backspacing, take a wheel off your mk1, put a straight edge on the brakes where the wheel would normally sit, then count 133mm or 5 1/4"towards your suspension
ohh and i also seriously doubt they are 8" wide.... the barrels arnet wide enough
most people measure the size from far end to end, when infact its correctly measured from inner tyre bead's
THIS!! is a 14x8

Yea I reckon they're probably a 7" wheel too. don't look nearly wide enough for 8's!
would make the et32. which means you could fit spacers ont he front to clear brakes (if need be) and not poke a truck load!
More desirable as 7's imo
gemini wheels have studs and nuts, just cause they're different. Cb is also like70mm, ours is 57, hence the spacer
oh and 8's pretty much never fit within the gaurds or a mk 1!
