QLD Golf MK1 Cabriolet Rear Window Plastic Insert WANTED

it's time to replace the hood and as usual the steel rear window frame is rat shizzle so i've ordered a new one from overseas...

unfortunately when i tried to remove the plastic insert that sits inside the frame it broke in to 3 pieces. if anyone knows of a mk1 cabby sat rusting away and i could buy the plastic insert i'd be very grateful. it's doubtful there are any mk1's left with a usable rear window frame so i'd like to think someone will sell the insert...

if anyone has any info of a cabby being broken or has the insert themselves please let me know as i'd like to get the roof back on asap, especially in this lovely sunshine state weather...

bum, threw out a complete hood before xmas. I know of a wreck here but he is pricey... lmk if you find joy closer to home otherwise I will check whats here in the west..

huge thanks for the info mate, i'm not on facebook but could join up i suppose. there is a vw mk1 meet here in Brisbane on the 30th Jan and i'm desperately trying to get my car ready for that...

if you could pm and contacts you have anywhere in Australia i'd be very grateful and will start chasing things up, even if in WA...

i have tried Leons VW Motors in Brisbane if thats the guy you are thinking of, he's not back until the 18th so cutting it fine to get finished, roadworthy and registered before the 30th...

Have tracked another window frame insert for you, only issue is it comes as a complete roof frame.

Guy selling it wants $120 for the lot, I can remove the rear window frame and send the whole section over if you have not yet found a replacement.
