Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • SOLD Dual Bike rack - for hatch type vehicles

I'm interested in selling a 2nd hand bike rack which has a few nicks and scratches, but which is perfectly OK!

The Bike rack doesn't have a brand-name sticker, but it looks exactly like a thule-clipon-high-9105-rear-mount-2-bike-cycle-carrier (see pictures below). It does however have the label in the following screenshot

As is shown in the pictures, the bike rack will carry 2 x bikes - the weight is held on the wheels with a separate arm that holds the bike via the seat stem (so perfect for carbon frame bikes).

The bike rack also has a security feature via the key mechanism shown below (the outer bike is locked-so it also secures the inner bike)

The bike rack is mounted onto the car via the hatch as shown below (picture borrowed from Thule):

So- now to the grubby issue of money: I'm not putting a reserve price on the sale -I'm a genuine seller and I'll simply accept the highest price that I receive (if any) by Sunday, June 18 - 2017 (about 30 days). That said, I reserve the right to end the sale earlier if a particularly "kind" offer is received before the closing date.

There are really only two sale conditions: First, only genuine buyers please (I'm not interested in negotiating) and the successful buyer will need to pick-up the bike rack from my home (which is in the north eastern suburb of Melbourne) - with payment, of course.

If you are interested, please lodge a bid via my PM- and good luck

    Don

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the wider expertise of other forum members! Thank you.

George: I said in my opening post that I was a genuine seller and I'm a firm believer that 2nd hand stuff is only worth what someone will pay for it.

So - if no other bids are received by tomorrow evening, the bike rack is yours for $10 - congratulations (it's a very good buy at this price)!!

        Don

PS:I'll PM the pick-up details on Monday
