  • ACT KW V1 Coilovers MK6 GTI

    Hey Guys,
The GTI is getting put back to standard so the go fast bits have to go. For sale is a set of KW V1 coilovers from a MK6 GTI. Pretty sure they fit MK5 platform too?

Only travelled about 24,000 easy k's so basically still ride like new. Looking for $1000, will ship at buyers expense.

    Cheers
    Simon

I've been told by my mechanic that they do. Don't have the part number sorry. Will see if I can find out for sure.

Apparently they will fit but the spring rate is slightly different (hence the part numbers are different). I think the Golf is a little heavier? But all the mounting points are the same, so I'm told.

If someone else could jump in here and confirm that they fit it would be much appreciated

Yes, I believe you'll face difficulties with the spring rate...

I told myself I wouldn't do this again...

But I think the GTI and Cabriolet use the same suspension setup... I might have to have a look and see if it does...

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

MK6 Cabriolet has part numbers 1T0 413 031 xx and 1K0 513 029 xx for the front and rear shocks. The xx are different but as far as I know this is usually a model revision of the same part rather than a different part.

Might have to do a little more research

Might be slightly different spring rates? I wouldn't expect them to be much different though.

The Cab comes with the sports suspension as standard... I don't know if that is different to the GTI suspension or not.

No me either, Harding Performance would probably be good people to ask? They seem to know everything about VWs there is to know.
