"The above units suit Golf / Jetta V and up, Polo 6R, Scirocco, Eos, Passat B6 and up, Tiguan, Amarok and Caddy. It also suits Skoda Octavia, Superb, Yeti etc.".......Aplogies if I have missed the obvious........... Gus
Unfortunately there is no pre-2010 Touareg units available for the DNS series. The only unit I have available is the ANS-710. This shape has not been carried across to the DNS and I have no confirmation from Audiosources of an ETA or indeed if they now still plan to make a DNS-710.

      • Very true. When are the units with the good resistor ready? It's like 3 degrees here everyday

          What a joke

Deadline after deadline is missed, and whenever they are missed Sandy goes to ground and doesn't post on the forum unless it's to push for more sales.

No update on why the revised firmware still isn't available, no updates on the problems with the mirroring module.

No updates on when he will ship the production units people paid for in July 2013
It's hard to believe we are in March and this is still not sorted lol

Wasn't the 'final', bug free, production run suppose to be shipped mid-Jan?

I'm following this thread more for the entertainment value cos you don't see $hit like this go down very often lol

          • I just posted in the support thread, I'm still chasing that final firmware update although AS is getting some sense listening to my feedback as they have now stopped selling the DNS until they fix up the firmware. This should be incentive for them to work faster since obviously it is affecting their sales the longer they drag this out.

Again I understand it has been a long time and trust me I am a lot more frustrated than you because I have over 60 units to worry about and not just one. However again as I say if your patience has run out, you can withdraw from the group buy with full refund at any time. The only reason I have not shut down the group buy is because I assume that since I still have over 60 active orders that these people are willing to wait. If they are not, they would and can just pull out.

I apologise if my updates have not been as frequent but I simply can't keep up with daily forum updates for 6 months. These days with work and wedding planning in the mix I only have time to go through the forums once every few days though I try to answer emails faster.

As for the final unit with fixed hardware, that has been available since about mid January. The issue now is software, and as I said if those of you with white screen etc issues that is caused by the resistor want to replace the unit now you can do so, but the firmware is still having that SD + nav clash. Everything else appears to be in good working order but I am not prepared to ship everyone a product that is going to have problems running SD and navigation at the same time as that is a pretty common use.

I have half a mind to simply ignore all your posts. My last posts for the past two months or so have almost exclusively been giving updates on how the firmware etc is going. When was the last time you saw me make a promotional post?

As for when I will ship the production units, that would be when the firmware is ready. How do you expect a set date when I am not given one by Audiosources? The last time I was given a deadline in June last year, I was told the product will be ready mid July. How did that go down? Would you prefer it if I said unit will be ready 5 March? You expect the impossible. Honestly I know I said you are free to express your opinions but right now you are misleading the customers a lot more than I ever would be.

            • Is Hotbmwm3 participating in the group buy? Did he lay down any money? I don't know... I didn't see his name on the list.

I know that I'm a new dubber too... but those of you who understand about dealing with factories would already know the issues... those who don't let me spell it out... If you are a single buyer... it wouldn't matter how many emails or calls you make... you would probably get zero support. I'm actually glad that someone else can go and harass the factory on my behalf and I can wait patiently for the finished product.

It is rare that the seller will offer you a full refund if you are unhappy to wait... so if you can't wait... then get your money back and then wait to buy a unit at full price.

I just want it known that I do not know the seller and have no affiliation with his business... but I do import and support electronic/electrical gear from overseas... so I know how tough it is... and that's my main line of business....

Oh, and I did lay down my money for a unit.

                • Hi guys, I am interested on buying this unit, but i have a few concerns. What about audio wuality? Is it better or worse than the previous ANS model? Is it better than the stock rcd510? What about the parking ops on screen, do they still show at the same time with the RVC? Dows anyone managed to install Garmin on it?

This one is for Sandy, new units are coming with the USB cable included? Since i don't have the OEM USB on my RCD510.

I like where you are going with that question. Not sure I want to splice the OEM connector to work with new, but it would def feel more like a stock head unit. If you do get it working, please post your wiring pin out.

The units are fully plug and play. No need to touch/splice/cut/adapt anything (except if you have a mk5, which needs a dual to single fakra adapter for radio). So oem plugs straight into USB/radio/gps/speakers/aux in.

On the mk6, there is an option for a center console USB... It currently doesn't work with new head unit. Would be cool if that worked. That is the USB I was speaking of.

Should be a separate cable, plugged into the yellow jack, afaik (its not part of the wiring harness loom afaik)

Yes unfortunately the USB cable is still separate and will have to connect to that yellow connector.

The small batch of production model DNS units should be shipping out on Thursday.

There has been a fix released by the CPU factory too though the results are still untested - I am receiving the update tomorrow to test for myself.

                              • Sandy, still looking forward to the unit when all the issues are ironed out.
Would there be, with any luck those who have iPhones, have the ability to have the new Apple Carplay software installed?
I know its a long shot, but wouldn't that be fantastic???
