Another hectic night, flashed the update, did some testing, only to be told there is now a new one. Just went through the latest one, but I noticed a bug where the search function in BT is searching only lower case letters and not uppercase ones (meaning it is missing 95% of the phonebook...) Once that is fixed I will do the BT video, along with iPod functions. Just keep in mind that the SD / USB and iPod functionality will receive an update in the future where music will be placed in a library that will be browse-able by ID3 tags (artist, album etc). Or at least that's what's been promised and last I checked the software engineers were in complete agreement with me.
The updates are coming through every couple of days but I feel there are still a couple of bugs in there that makes the unit feel not quite finished. As I said my job is to test everything I'm given and pressure them to fix things until I am satisfied that it will be a fairly bug-free release. It's very frustrating when they work slower than promised or miss things I've told them about, but at least now they have finished tuning the radio module so the hardware will receive no more changes. So I will make that BT video ASAP with a view to closing the group buy by Friday. This will get the orders rolling, and in the meantime even if the software is not finished, the units will be ready to ship and should be sent out the day that the software is finished (instead of making the order and producing units after the software is finished which could delay things another week or so).
