More power, no maintinance, its sealed, better quality, can take a bit of a bashing. Google it and you will find more info.
The only battery i can think of that is better than optima is Kinetik and they dont sell them anywhere out of the US.
Cant really afford one/not in need of one atm, but thanksMkIV Bora [SOLD]

Bluetop 34 is the same size as the yellow D34, but with extra terminals on it (for marine use). Should fit fine.Originally posted by NJAY87 View PostHey Joe
Could be interested given that it would fit my MK4 R32. I fairly sure the Bluetop 34 does but not too sure on the yellow top d34? ]
Is any one able to confirm whether it would fit?
Some car audio people like the bluetops as it gives them another set of battery terminals to connect to.Nothing to see here...

They can sit for ages without a charge too.
I wish I never sold mine.2000 Mk IV GTI

From the thread in the Mk4 section, Mk4 owners will need an MF55 sized battery - unless this is confirmed (OP?), you're best not to order unless you plan on doing a battery relocation...Originally posted by Manaz View PostBluetop 34 is the same size as the yellow D34, but with extra terminals on it (for marine use). Yep - they can also be deep discharged without damaging them, unlike regular car battery designs that are permanently damaged by such occurrences.Originally posted by dubbed View PostPerfect for amps

The redtops are best for sitting for ages without a charge - that's why they're good in track or seasonal cars.
The guy who bought my Liberty did well. I still had the stock Liberty battery in the shed until recently - took it to the local waste recycling centre and disposed of it appropriately just a few weeks ago...Nothing to see here...

I have no doubts about the quality of the fresh Optima battery but not after seating on the shelf for 2 or 3 years.
OPTIMA
My question to group buy organizer is:
How it will be with the warranty should someone receive faulty battery?
From my own experience 2 out of 2 Optima batteries I had, failed. One came in brand new Jeep we bought and it was exactly 12 months old - dealer replace it with the new one. Second Optima, Yellow Top Deep Cycle and Starting battery (D51R) died in our Subaru Forester, it was just 3 years old.
I still got it in my garage.
I wish you guys you get batteries from a fresh stock and nobody will be disappointed with the purchase.
