Traffic Jam Assist (TJA) can now be activated on cars that have Active Lane Guidance (ALG) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

Refer to the VW info here

Also able to be activated (optional, no charge) is Emergency Assist:
Emergency Assist < Technical Glossary < Innovation & Technology < Volkswagen International
What cars is this available on?
The feature is able to be activated on any car that has a front assist camera (address A5) with a part number of 3Q0 980 654 with a revision F or later.
It must also have ACC.
The following cars should meet this criteria:
New Tiguan (MY17-)
New Passat B8
Golf Mk 7.5
Audi A3/S3 8v facelift (MY17-)
If the car has a front assist camera with part number 5Q0980654 this is not possible.
What is required?
This feature activation is not a simple matter of coding with tools like VCDS or OBD11.
It requires Vag CAN Pro (VCP) to load a suitable encrypted parameter set to the A5 front assist camera MCU.
It also may require updating the software version of the A5 front assist camera module (G or H is supported) with VCP or ODIS Engineering.
Because of the specialised tools required, and the time and effort that has been spent developing the parameter sets, this is a paid service.
Part of the cost includes a payment to the developers of the procedure in recognition of their work.
I can offer this to anyone in the greater Sydney region, or those prepared to travel to Sydney.
How much does it cost?
The cost of the activation is $150 payable on confirmation of the feature working. If it cannot be activated for some reason there will be no charge.
How long does it take?
The process takes around 1-1.5 hours including road testing of the feature (by the vehicle owner).
What if I can't get to Sydney?
All of the information required to perform the activation is available on the user only VCP forums. Check (if you live in usa): Publix Weekly Ad, or Supercheap Auto Catalogue.
I am happy to assist other VCP owners remotely with teamviewer provided they are also happy to forward a payment to the developers (not me).
Lastly this service is offered for testing purposes only, any liability is assumed by the owner of the vehicle.
Send me a PM for further information.
