Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC VW Golf Mk3 3-door Manual

    G’day,

Up for sale is my Dragon Green 1995 MK3 3-door Golf. I have recently bought a new Mk7 hoping my son was going to drive this, but he decided he didn’t like driving a manual after all, hill starting proving too much of a challenge.

I bought the car in 2010 with 88,000 km and it now has 122,000. I have tried to keep it in good condition, including an auto to manual conversion about a year ago using a donor vehicle to transplant all mechanicals and electrics. At the time I put in a new clutch kit and replaced the front brakes with ventilated items. New Bilstein touring shocks were added soon after I bought it, along with a new air-conditioner compressor. This car presents in very original condition and has no mods.

Bodywork is very good, the only blemishes being a scrape in the left sill and another small dent ahead of the left rear arch. Both were there when I bought it. Paint is excellent otherwise, although the rear bumper is fading a little.

Mechanically it is also very good, but needs a new exhaust. I’m looking for around $3000 without a roadworthy, but am open to offers around that price. Check out the photos and PM me if interested. The car is in Ivanhoe VIC.

    Cheers, Rob.

Thanks mate. I consider it a personal failure not to have produced an offspring that drives a manual
