Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • SOLD 1998 Seat Cupra Ibiza 16V

    *Price Drop to $3,000*

After 2.5 years of fun and faithful service it is time to part ways with the the Ibiza.

    Model: Ibiza cupra
    Year: 1998
    Colour: White
Motor: ABF 2.0 (with full top end rebuild 2013 (full top end overhaul with new exhaust valves, seals, gaskets, bolts) - doesn't use a drop of oil
Mods: 16V Extractors (rare things) and sports exhaust (not offensive) Garlock EPROM, Adjustable Cam Gear, 5 Speed Short Shifter, H&R cup kit (lowering spring shocks - brakes all round were done at the same time), BBS RS, Pod filter, BT Headunit with Amp and Sub, Front and rear strut braces (not fitted), Keyless entry.
Interior: Tinted, OEM Recaro red half leather trimmed seats, Rear View Camera, Tartan headlining.

This is an honest car that has given good service to those that who have owned it, this said it is not immaculate. It will with some minor attention look great. Interior is the same.

I have fitted the EPROM and did the top end when I bought it and it has loads of power for a light car. Those who know 16V will understand. The engine is worth quite a reasonable sum if the car was split which is a shame as the car complete is a great little chariot.

Recently fitted the extractors and this has made an even greater improvement in engine note and more usable low down power.

The car was on stands and all the suspension was replaced about 2 years ago (Springs, Shocks, Discs, Pads) so there is a lot of life in it.

It has genuine three piece BBS RS 4x100 15x6.5" fitted currently with Kumho KU31 - these are OEM from a BWM 3 series and think that they are specifically RS003 from memory. Have all caps etc. Again these are worth a lot split from the car but need some attention.

Based on the car as it is I am looking for $3,000. The registration expires on 22/07/2015 I am happy to negotiate on the price to move it. If I can't sell I will consider splitting it out (which would break me a little as it is such a great package).

PM me for more details. Located in Sydney Eastern Suburbs.

    Cheers, Mick

    Better pics to follow.

Now priced at $3,500 - more fun than a over valued MK1 at that price.

Final price $3,000 but if it is not sold before reg expires she is being scrapped I'd say.

I could be interested in the wheels if you decide to split...

Yes but think how good I could make Mick's with parts from mine. Plus I'd have a real reason to keep my "spares" car instead of moving the bits to my MK2 Golf.
