Reliability after 5 years
My 2020 132 Comfortline Tig has been a pleasure to own and I'll likely pass it on to my 18 yr old son next year. How has the reliability been for those who've held the car for 5+ years?

MK7 TSI long term reliability
I am keen on a 2nd hand TSI between the years 2013-2016. Just wondering if any owners here can vouch for their long term reliability? Happy to budget extra to ensure maintenance is done on time, I am only concerned about costly mechatronics and dry clutch replacements. Currently driving my parents manual...Last edited by falkord; 26-04-2022, 12:47 PM.

Unexpected costs
I am considering buying the new Tiguan and was after some advise from existing owners.
I know that VW have the pre purchase service option which covers the first 5 years, however are there any considerable out of pocket expenses that people have been stung with?
Also what...

Looking to buy a Passat Alltrack MY13: loss of confidence in VAG cars
Hi all!
I am considering a Passat B7 Alltrack with under 130 000 km but before coming to that I would like to vent a bit on a recent Audi Q5-DSG disaster that happened to me.
So as from my intro post, I am a Frenchy now living in Sydney. Back in France, me and my family own/owned...

Mk7 Golf DSG info
Helping a friend find a car and have found one that seems to tick a lot of boxes. It's a 2018 Golf Mk7.5 110tsi Comfortline, only 36,000kms:
You have been blocked
I realise this question has probably been done to death, but how big a risk is it getting this with the DSG box? I realise...

But the Transporter didn’t do that bad at all and improved by 1 place from the previous year.

ACC reliability issues/degradation in MK6 Golf R?
Hi guys,
Had a question as we are looking to buy a MK6 Golf R in the very near future.
I like the sound of the ACC (Adaptive Chassis Control) option and many of the cars coming up for sale have it - have any of you experienced or heard of reliability issues popping up with...Last edited by sharkpatrol7; 20-06-2018, 03:47 PM.

2017 Tiguan reliability?
I've now had me 2017 Tiguan for 15 months and I have to say it has to be one of the most reliable vehicles I have ever owned.
I had one "glitch" with the infotainment screen, where it would not come on for a few days, but this self corrected and I have not had another single problem....

How many km is too many for a Mk 7 Golf
Looking at getting the following car:
2014 Golf 90TSI
Manual
130,000km (about two thirds is highway driving)
$11,000 (may be able to negotiate a bit)
Is that too many km for that car? Lower km ones are a bit out of budget but I'm trying to toss up if it is...Last edited by 846; 05-12-2017, 07:22 PM.

Should I buy a Golf (mk 6)?
My mother needs a new car and we are strongly considering a Mk 6 Golf.
77 TSI is ruled out because too basic, 118 out because of too many engine issues, diesel out because of DPF issues (90% of driving is city). So that leaves the 90TSI.
Im fairly familiar with most models of Volvo as well...

Another buy advice~
Hi all,
I'm starting a new job as cabling field technician, and it will be my first time buying a van!
I've seen Hiace and iLoad on the road most of the time, but due to the height of my carport (in a block of units), I need to get a smaller van -_-, since my old 05 golf...Last edited by talktokeith; 19-06-2017, 12:31 PM.

Have just realised I've been updating this thread under the newbies corner which might explain why I seem to have lost nearly all my pages...and while I probably don't have much of value to add really...I try to do my best to at least contribute to valuable forums such as these...which have always been...Last edited by aSimpleLife; 27-03-2017, 04:35 PM.
