Bit the bullet and changed everything. No noticeable wear after 70,000 klm since last change but has been over 7 years. Serpentine tensioner wasn't done before and had miniscule movement at pulley. Car will be over 20 years old before due again! Could not budge the alternator pulley, snapped 2 special...

I have a MK7 Golf 90TSI, when starting the car up or using the start stop, its not a smooth process, its like the engine has excessive front to rear movement but appears fine during normal driving conditions. Would this be the engine mounts? Any ideas or common faults in this area?

It's happened in the US -- ALL VW MY18 models now appear to be covered by a 6 year/72,000 miles bumper-to-bumper warranty in the land of the free!

When will it happen here? Do we need a "movement" to urge VW Australia to copy the yanks (and I don't mean the type of movement...

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed how much lateral movement there is in the Whiteline farb. It doesn't have the small ribs on the bar that butt up against the bushes that the oem bar had. Mine can move almost fully one way till the bar is virtually hitting the subframe.
