This is a DIY I did back in 2012 when I owned a Mk6 Golf R. I never uploaded it to this forum as we don't have a "DIY" area, but I remembered I had uploaded this DIY on VWVortex and decided to finally upload it here.

Hi all,
Has anyone had to change the cam chain and tensioner on their car that has the EA113 motor ? What were the symptoms of a failing chain/tensioner?

HPFP Cam Follower
My son-in-law has just purchased a 2009 TTS (8J) - I believe same engine as MK6 Golf R.
Mileage is low at 56k km, but I've read various forum posts regarding premature wear on the cam follow on the EA113 - CDL engine.
I've discussed with one of the well know VAG indie repairers here...

Parts in country
FYI. I found these guys last night while looking for a HPFP. They have some really good prices on what they carry. As I have been ordering from overseas it is good to know that we can get our hands on some items locally (Melbourne). Injectors, coils, sensors, N80 valve, HPFP and some other items....

Golf TDI Cranking but won't fire - Fuel Pump?
Hi All,
Long time lurker first time poster. After around 230,000km of trouble free driving, I have finally hit a snag in my 2009 Mk6 Golf TDI 2.0.
Driving the car the day before, put my foot down to overtake and the car shuddered and lost power before continuing on without...

Petrol in oil - next steps?
I upgraded my HPFP with an Autotech kit about a month ago. Last week I started to get a strong smell of petrol in the cabin; checked the dipstick and it smells more like petrol than oil. A bit of Googling suggests I probably damaged the internal seals in the HPFP when I put the Autotech bits in, and...

HPFP with Autotech upgrade - for swap
I have an OEM HPFP with the Autotech upgrade. Both items are less than 12 months old. I need to swap for a standard OEM HPFP from a Mk 6 R (may consider from Mk 5 GTi if low km).
Located in Perth. $500 for the swap. You save on the expensive labour required to swap the Autotech inter...

Is this a fair price for HPFP & CAI?
Hi guys
Currently got APR stage 2 on my Mk6 R (APR Downpipe/Miltek Cat Back & APR Stage 2 tune) and i've just been quoted the following by an APR dealer to upgrade to Stage 2+:
HPFP $1300
VW Racing CAI $975
Installation $125
(Free upgrade to stage 2 tune)...Last edited by mozzatron; 26-08-2015, 06:02 PM.

APR tuning questions
alright guys.
I've got a mk6 golf R and I've had a stage 2 APR tune for a few months now and I'm wanting something extra.
Currently running the stage 2 tune with APR down pipe and Milltek cat back.
I'm undecided on whether to go to 2+ or straight to 3....
