Hi all,

looks like I am going to require my heater core to be replaced as the heater barely works and is leaking coolant (I can smell it when using the heater inside the cabin)

Wanted to see if anyone else has had to have this replaced and how much they paid?

So I have a 2008 mk5 gti and the heater doesn't work. Air con is fine but the temp always stays cold no matter what temp it is set to and even then not all the vents blow. Would this be the heater core? Or may be the blower motor. Both? Any ideas would be most welcome.

As the title says the heater is blowing cold air when I set it to the max temp. This isn't really an issue in our weather however I was changing the coolant today and doing a 10 min flush and it says to turn the heater on to flush the water out of the heater core.

So my question...

does anyone know if aus delivered tiguans have the capability to heat? therefore allowing some vcds/obd11 settings magic to enable it?

in the o/s cars that have it, it's tied to the set heater button.
