Having concluded that the blend doors can only be fixed on the bench after draining coolant and degassing, I have come up with an alternative solution to enable the heat to be regulated (turned off). http://I thought I would be adventurous and attempt to repair the blend doors. I have pulled the dashboard apart and can see the the "box where all of the air goes through.
