I’m having some dramas starting my mk2 gti 8v. I’m not getting a spark, I’ve recently replaced the distributor, ignition coil and also the ignition module and still no joy...any tips??

Hey all, so ive had my mk 3 for about 6 months and it recently decided it wanted to stop working. I pulled over on the roadside to roll a smoke left the car running and then it just stopped. So i got it towed back home a figured its gotta be an ignition issue because it turns over just doesnt kick in....

Hey Guys,
I just changed my distributor, rotor and leads. I checked them recently and I think they could have still be the original set. There was a fair bit of corrosion on the contacts.
I didn't have any problems before, I just I did it to avoid any future issues
