At some stage after our 2018 model the towball weight increased up from 100kg to 200 maybe? Does anybody know which year that increase was?

I had a Seikel lift kit put into my T5.1 yesterday (after about 6 years of cogitating). AOK, but the mechanic reported I have worn bushes in both lower control arms (and a damaged ball joint boot).

I've been looking at my options and think I'll go for complete (bushed) replacement$....

so my newly acquired 08 jetta gearbox needed a replacement 5th /6th gear shift fork - I dropped the end plate and replaced it today.

I adjusted the cables with the selector mechanism on the gearbox locked out, and a 5mm bit in the shifter lockout as well. no more...

2. There are 3 ball joint locating dimples. Drill them out. Their internal remains will need to be filed dead flat. Not fun.

This could be one for the ages...

After 250,000 km, the ball joints in the front end of my 2001 T4 2.5TDi have finally sucummbed. Much clonking is being had whilst on the move and they are visibly rooted.

My mechanic enquired as to the replacement parts cost and was quoted...
