    Now the bad news.

Yep, that is because a lot VWs sold in the USA are built in Mexico or South America ........

I can guarantee you a Korean takes more pride in his work than a Mexican .....

BMW & M-Benz has the same problem with a number now built in the USA itself ..... and we all know how well they build cars ....

Also, most Americans would not recognise a quality car if it ran them over .....

so, if their automotive appliance does not have soft and wallowy suspension (ie comfortable and incapable of taking a corner) and everypossible thing that opens and shuts (with a remote control) it has to be less good .... right ?

I have very little faith in what Americans consider to be quality .....

This isn't a bad thing really, why wouldn't you want a cheap car with a killer warranty period thats actually reliable that you can buy new a 1/3rd of the price of a new golf?

I can't see anything wrong with that! And they're even making the cars to look halfway decent now!

                      Can't wait for this:

Come in either a 210hp 2.0T, or a 306hp 3.8 V6 and both come with RWD, 6spd manual and most importantly a proper mechanical LSD!!!

Coming to Aus to, the V6 does around 14.1 down the 1/4, and then low 13's with a new computer.

I'd seriously convert if this turns out to be a good car.

my brother is a mechanic and had worked for a honda/kia dealship after coming out of alfa romeo. He loves the Kia's for the price and reliability. He's on his second Kia, his misses has one and he'd likely get another when he wants to update from the sorento. Can't knock the 5yr warranty either.

When I recently went travelling through the queensland outback, Kia sorento's and Hyundai Terrecans were actually very common. Certainly no less common than your nissan patrol and more common than a land cruiser. Wouldn't run cape york in one mind you...

I should have also added it's Tacky more than anything, that front end and the lowered window behind the B pillar are awful.
