there are a few things to josh's numbers.

first, with a tune, it bumps it up to 140~~kw and however many nm of torque.

but then, you can buy a pipe that bypasses the diesel particulate filter (which is hugely restrictive apparently), and then get the car re-tuned, and put out something in the area of 160~~kw and 460~~nm of torque.

so, with a dpf delete AND remap for dpf delete, you'd be a happy tractor driver.

ahhhhhhhh i see , sorry peeps bit of a noob when it comes to diesels. those are very respectable numbers, just didnt know where those differant numbers came from lol. i drove a diesel golf for a replacement when my car went into being serviced. thats where i got my idea that my next car could very well be a diesel. still not sure which one to get though.

yeah man, the diesels arent too shabby, and the new cr engines will be good too.

alot of people in the states on tdiclub.com who work their 1.9tdi engines pretty well with new hybrid turbos, .:R32 pipework, mafless tunes, getting rid of the egr, new intake manifold etc etc, and whose cars are pretty quick, many of those guys seem to love the idea of a golf gtd where they can just do a dpf delete remap, full exhaust, then call it a day and start looking at good suspension.

i would too, but im kinda past the point of no return with the polo and complete it. gotta go balls-deep, not half-shaft.

You're telling me Diesels are not too shabby? My Astra got 122 kW at the wheels and a peak of 459 Nm on dyno last Sunday (video here)
However, getting more poke in a Diesel becomes a very costly affair, think spending close to $100k on a BMW 330d or why not 335d... That's exactly why I'm seriously contemplating jumping into an R in about 9 months from now!

yeah those astras are gnarly. i've got a diesel polo- just wish i had the pd150 turbo in it, but i dont know who in australia can do rolling road dyno tuning for diesels...

459nm is nothing to laugh at- very, very nice figure. what have you done to it? chip/exhaust?

Not much done, just a DTUK CRD-T tuning box (available for VW CR engines, too) and a Simota Carbon CAI. About $850 worth of mods. Considering comes stock with 94 kW afw and 320 Nm, that is money well spent I reckon
I was thinking to ugrade the exhaust but since might be selling it in 9 months... However, I am very happy about how she pulls as it is!

Honestly, I'd rather buy a Mk5 GT TDI. I prefer the look of the Mk5 front with the Mk6 (yes, I SHOULD interchange them ).

awww yeah man there's a guy in melbourne who has the same mods as you, and he's pushing similar figures- insane. those astras come out of the box with a good bit of standard kit.

what are you selling it for? it must be abit of a sleeper!
