Here is a list of the Aussies that competed:
The Australian presence at the Nürburgring Nordschleife this weekend will extend well beyond the Australian flag painted on the armco at the famous Karussell corner.

Here is the list of final placings:
The race is now over and a massive congratulations for all the teams who took part, not just the winners. As you can see in the banner above the Osborne Motorsports Toyota Corolla managed to overcome its transmission issues and get in the final gaggle of cars to cross the finish line behind the Mant...

Here's a 6 part update from those crazy Australians:
    Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6

Here's an article with Colin Osborne on what it takes to prep and race a car at the N24.

All the guys that go this race simply love the competition. Some are there in serious machinery and others are there simply for the love of motorsport.

I dare say those being critical are either jealous, ignorant or a little bit of both.

I held a Motorsport license for many years in South Africa and competed in many different events at club level in many different cars, some awesome and some not .... and definately have an appreciation of the passion people have for the sport.

With this being a VW forum, my inuendo was purely aimed at a Toyota and not at the people involved. Surely racing a VW, any VW, would be better (from this forum's view ?)

And yes, I am jealous, of not being there myself and having the oppertunity to race at the 'Ring. That said, I have a 4 week holiday planned in Europe next year with 4 days planned at the 'Ring itself. Have you been there?

Yes. In May 2006. If I had the budget it would be an annual trip.

Awesome ! I have actually read that before, didn't make the connection until now though.

Yes, time and money is always the issue. Normally when I have 1 I don't have the other ....

This time however I hope it all comes together. Plan on using 1 of the car hire companies linked to on the Ausringers site. Who would you recommend?
