I read in one of the German sites which stated one Golf R may not have 4Motion but use the XDS system in the GTI.- Ben

Yes, I heard that there was to be a model between the AWD R20 Golf and the GTI in the near future. It's supposedly meant to make 177kw and be FWD. Chief VW GTI engineer aparently hinted at it in an interview. (in which he also hinted at the AWD R20)Originally posted by phaeton View Post

Officially revealed!
Boasting 198kw and 350Nm. 0-100 in in 6.5 for the manual, and 6.4 for the DSG seems a bit conservative i think, especially since they're practically the same as the R32 (6.3 for the DSG though). FWD though

Ugghh I want that car soo bad. We won't get it, we never get the cool cars. We'll probably end up with a TDi replacement Golf that 0-100 9.9secs and gets 5l/100km.
