Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Forum Upgrades

There were a few upgrades applied to the forums today, if anyone notices anything that looks wrong, please let me know.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

The new replies (used to show up yellow) aren't working in the latest posts section.
They all just show up as a light blue colour.

I can't see the 'Reply to Thread' button, when I am logged out. Not sure if that's on purpose like that...

I'm not sure what you mean? Can I have a screen shot point at the bit that used to be yellow?

If your logged out you can't reply so would need to log in... but I take your point. Will look into that but it seems to be something that has changed in this version.

fully aware of that. It was just handy to be able to hit the button when I was reading as a guests and be able to sign in without having to scroll up and then having to find the thread again!

As a matter of interest, I tried it on my iPhone 4S and it is different to a couple of days ago. I can now see the New Posts link.

I have upgraded to a different theme which is a lot neater... however we are back to the old problem, on the iPhone (mine at least) I can't switch back to the desktop theme instead... I'm working on fixing it up, but at this stage it appears to be a 'Mobile Safari' issue rather than anything else. If you can try switching back to the desktop theme on your iPhone and let me know if it works for you or not that would be great.

I think a stuck mobile browser theme is probably better than no mobile browser theme at all. In either case I'm still tinkering away trying to fix the problem.

It's a bit inconsistent since the "Reply with Quote" option is still present on each post - I use this now and just kill the quote portion if I want to instant post.
