That is a shocker! The screwed on rear 'disc' is especially funny. One thing that intrigues me though, I've been cycling/racing for 20 years and I've never seen a seatpost like that! I'd like to know what it is. It looks like it has a rubber block between the two metal posts to act a bit like suspension (which the bike already has haha).

Put it this way. The bike is like having F1 class wheels on a Hummer. Do you go off road or is it used for track time ???? It would be way too heavy and redundant suspension for track. Good luck doing downhill biking with slicks.

I can't figure it out either. The two alu connecting bars would prevent it from moving up and down much at all, while the rubber would presumably provide some restriction to fore and aft movement, but why would you want your seat to move fore and aft ? Unless it is a rigid piece of black plastic (not rubber) which stops all movement, in which case it is purely a styling gimmick. Who knows ?

Not neccessarily, a bouncing ball comes to rest every time it reaches its maximum height for that bounce

That's true, but it doesn't continue to move, it resumes moving. Just being a pedant. The elephant is gold. I nearly had a hernia when I first saw it.
