I've been cycling/racing for 20 years and I've never seen a seatpost like that! I'd like to know what it is. It looks like it has a rubber block between the two metal posts to act a bit like suspension .
It looks like a version (knock off) of a Crane Creek Thudbuster. I can vouch for the post working on hard tail touring bicycles. I've clocked up over 20K kms on a Bike Friday NWT with a Thudbuster and a Brooks saddle...

So it works OK in practice then ? Looking at the geometry it would be mainly moving backwards until the two parallel arms rotate backwards far enough to also be moving vertically as well (they can only move in an arc, right ?). I would have thought it would feel weird having the seat go backwards and forwards all the time.

I made the mother of all stuffups similar to the above. Someone at work had just found out that they got the lowest pay rise the morning after my wife and I were talking about how its never worth comparing or telling that stuff at work as it always causes rifts (hence why pays are confidential!) Next morning she and a co worker did it and it went badly. So in an email to my wife I said how the other worker was pissed and had just found out that she got the crappest pay rise out of all of us and lucky she never found out mine as it was a lot higher.....5min later I got a reply email from that same worker, saying how all that was very interesting...somehow my stupid brain had sent it to the person in question and not my wife....I have never stuffed up an email like that...and of all the ones to do it with. I never send any gossipy emails either, I just had to send it to my wife, as it was exactly what we talked about.
Anyway awkward doesn't come close to how that day was after that, we work in a very small office......I have to go to the US with her next month as well, just the two of us.....gonna be a long flight!
It's happened a few times at my work, the accountant used to send me confidential stuff all the time when i first started, usually about me as he wasn't used to there being two people with the same name, and kept meaning to send it to my boss. You can't recall emails once the person has opened it either!
I wouldn't like to try to hold that "cat" ! (unless it was someone's pet, then they are OK to hold) But then again I remember as a kid taking on a bet I couldn't catch a feral kitten - afterwards I really wished I had lost that bet. It was surprising just how much damage such a small animal could inflict in a really short time
I read a similar experience where someone in the UK thought a fox was a lost dog - and they even managed to get hold of it and put a collar on it ( I don't think it was a put-up job either).
Maybe english foxes are tamer than Oz ones (or is that because in Oz we treat them as vermin, but in UK they actually are part of the environment so are more tolerated ? )
