Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

- The dash already has cutouts for the OEM lights to just clip in for
driver (near OBD port) and passenger. - The kit comes with the wiring all done, just need to push the pin into
the right place in the BCM connector. - The BCM is located above the fusebox, under the driver's side dash (RHD
vehicle). - For 2008 mk5 based Tig it was connector B pin 7, for a newer mk6 based
Tig it is connector B pin 50 - the bold sport website shows all the
details. - Dimming from the instrument cluster works great, OEM setup.
REAR footwell lights
- The rear footwell (front seats) don't have spaces for the OEM light units
- The LED strips lights from Jaycar (Australia) fit perfectly (can be
screwed in to the seat bottom with small screws) - I ran wiring together with the seat harness, then under the carpet, and
along the door sills. - The door sill trims just clip out (see OEM RVC install, same location)
- For the passenger side, you need to unclip the trunk release button
which is easy when you know how. You need to undo and remove the small
clip which sits under the handle, towards the front of the car.
Sturdy aluminium-encased LED strip light from Jaycar, part number ST3918.
Cost $40 for two. (or $30 ea singly). Comes with wiring and screws to
attach to the seat.
