    hey guys,

has anyone had their VW serviced at Wangara yet? if so any opinions/reviews on what its like in the way of price/service/time?

coming up for service soon and its either them or OPVW?

    Thanks in advance

    Kiel

Given some of the underwhelming experiences people on here seem to have had with OP, it might be worthwhile trying Wangara and then letting us know how you go! Wangara isn't particularly close to you though...

What about Quattro Motors or Golfwagen? (or even John Hughes dare I say it...)

Yes, I know Golfwagen is in Wangara as well, before any one pipes up

If you have a Manufacturer's Extended Warranty then no, so long as your service agent completes the tasks according to the manual, you won't have issues.

If you have a Dealer's Extended Warranty you may be required to return to the dealer for servicing otherwise they could void it for you. These are usually a package type deal the dealer has with some 3rd party warranty/insurance company so they just pass on the costs.

(I'd say though you have the first, but check it just in case.)

What ever you do don't go to Vic Park, it's even worse than Osb Park!

I've taken my wifes '08 Skoda RS to Joe @ Golfwagen & that's also where I'm taking my '07 Golf GTI on Thursday. 2/3 the price the dealer charges, friendly service from someone who is actually interested in VW's, no need to "un-mod" your car & he supplies a courtesy car.

would it matter if you do your servicing at places other than dealerships? ie warranty issues? also i have a squeak apparently from the supercharger but vic park vw says it isnt loud enough (windows up and barely hear it....) to warrant a change.. stupid i know.. but if lets say i go to osb park or vw wangara might they change it or would it be the same....

I had my Golf done at Wangara a few weeks ago, probably got ripped off... Actually, I know I got ripped off but I knew the cost before I booked it in so nobody to blame but myself.

It was a 6 month/7500km service which I know isn't a VW thing but I figured an oil change and checkup couldn't hurt.

Staff were good, went through what would be done and cost.

I forgot to ask them not to wash it (I'm a bit pedantic about the paintwork) so it obtained a few new swirls and scratches but they cleaned it surprisingly well compared to what John Hughes did to mum's Passat. It was let down by some greasy black splotches around the hatch and rear doors.

I had a Jetta TDI loan car, basically like my car except it made me feel a bit older

This was my first time getting a car serviced so I didn't really know what to expect and I have nothing to compare it to.

did u have to pay for the loan car? as i thought they only gave u a car if it was in for a warranty or something like that...

Yeah it was $40 and I had to fill it up with fuel back to the level it was at before returning it. So another $10 for diesel.

Expensive but not much I could about it as I needed a car.

I went to Wangara because that's where the car was purchased and they have been pretty good so far, I'd heard of people not being happy with OP and JH.

I think next time I'll go with John Hughes if I stick with VW dealers as they're closest to home.

I've just booked my Jetta in for its first service (7500km) at Wangara VW. I was quoted $349.16, plus $39.50 for a loan car if i needed one. Personally I think that $349.16 is alot for an oil change, but as I am a new VW owner, I thought I'd take it to the dealer for its first anyway. I might do some research for its next service to see if Wangara VW is competitively priced or not.

When did VW start penning in formal 7500km services?
I just noticed my Pirelli has a 7500 sticker on the windscreen, but my GT was 15,000...

I'll still go in for a 7500 oil change as a habit, but the fact it is written down on my windscreen is mildly irritating
